The one constant through-out all this increase in laziness was the use of our hands in some way ... now they're telling us we no longer have to use our hands either?Ã,  In a few millinium you're going to see humans evolving into slug-like creatures who have stumpy little arms and legs that serve no purpose.Ã,  These Sluggos just sit in one spot mind-controlling everything they want.

Look at the AGS map and look at all the flags in Europe. Then look at the complete LACK of flag in, let say, Africa. There are still people in the world who never seen a computer or a GPS powered tracktor or even a steel shovel. They still make fire by rubbing two stones together.

At the other side. I am a ball of stress. I have to learn things at school, read books, make programmes, solve problems, get them done in time by working when you want to go out or sleep, remember in what class and at what time a test starts, make that test under stress, try not to piss of teachers and other classmates and trying not to get hit by a bus while walking and talking on a mobile phone.
Then there are all the other laws and social laws like not to piss in public when the cops are watching (even if you really have to) or still going to your girlfriend house even if you know that she's going to break up with you.
I don't think a chip in your brain will solve all this.

I can't wait to become an amoeba and enjoy life.

Ow, ow, ow IDEAS.
Use games that were nominated for the ags awards.
Or pick-of-the-month games.
Or "ags is 5 years old".

It seems like a nice story, however it is a bit cliché, isn't it? Renegade cop? Daughter dead? Out for revenge? It's all a bit hollywood.
Every dramatic scene is a cliche

Why did Aklin take out his daughter and then kill her? Surley he would know who his partner's daughter is? Surley he would know that William, as a renegade cop, would relentlessly persue this killer? Acing as a PI implies that William is a good cop, surley Aklin knew this? Why would he risk discovery?
Maybe this was Aklin's only contact with a real woman. He had a crush on her. He confessed and she refused. Alkin's rage and love for a woman he couldn't reach made him kill her.

Quote
About the other women: did no one notice? Did these women not have friends? Did they not say "I'm going on a date with xxxx"? Did police not follow up these leads and put the pieces together? How does he meet the women? Are they all unattached spinsters with no friends and no one to talk to about such a thing? Do none of them keep diaries or anything?
Maybe the vitims were whores. They are alwais an easy target. Aklin could say he was a vice cop, arrest them, put his cuffs on them and drive to a quiete place.

Aklin might be neurotic or psicopathic. (Syntoms are stress, out of touch with reality and fear. Neurotics can still funktion in society while psicopaths do not. People will notis that they are nutty.)
Years of stress from work and moched by his mother could have pushed him to far.
The original killer was never caught. The killings just stopped. Aklin killed the original killer, but keeps it a secret.
Give the original killer the complete same profile as Aklin. Aklin kept his corpes. All the bad things that happen to Aklin is the fault of the original killer.
Aklin believes that it he gets caught he can say "I didn't do it. It was the killer, I'll bring you to him" and he will be a hero.

Pfew, I like profiling.

When I'm stuck and look at a walktrough. I either have a "Why didn't I think of that!" or "That's far to hand to figure out!" fealing.
The latter on is common in sierra games.

Of course, the feedback helps me loads when figuring out what to do in the next games.Ã,  Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely consider them for the future cases.

Will that be "Ben Jordan Case 4: Why is there a moose head in an English inn"?

Beginners' Technical Questions / s3m trouble?
Wed 24/11/2004 10:29:15
For some reason I can't play s3m music files in ags.
I was wondering if this happened to other people or if the problem lies within my s3m tracker.
I only hear squeeks in the game, but the files work ok in winamp.

http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/s3mtest.zip the ags test game
http://www.bluemoon.ee/history/scwin/ the tracker I use.

The games that I FINISHED were all done within a week.

I work on ags games when I should do some real schoolwork, but AGS is just so much fun.

Man, that's a nice game right here.
Everything is done great. The sound, the graphix, the details, ect.
But I don't feel like I have control over the character. I just keep bumping agains the other player by random actions.

On the back of the map is a name. You don't know the person, but maybe Tri-boob Betty does. She shagged every pirate in the carabian. She says that the person you're looking for is dead, but his pet giant octopus is still alive. She even gives you the flute to summon it. After you traded in your tree for a coffin, you row to the location where the giant octopus lives. He knows where the other part of the map is.

I make games because I like making games. It's great if other people enjoy playing them, but that's not the main reason.

I think that there should be at least one walktrough of a game floating on the internet. However, that doesn't mean that the creator of the game has to write one.

Personally, I don't care if people finished my games. I'm already happy if people play them. And when I look at the amount of times my site goes down because of the bandwith limit, I become very happy.

Where's all this going?
My long-term goal for the scripting language is to bring it up to an object-based standard, on a par with Visual Basic 6 ...

ARRG. NO!
To quote grumpy smurf; I hate object orientated programming.
