@ VampireWombat: Don't take the zero vote to heart. It's happened to me along the way, and I know it can be discouraging. All these MAGS games are learning experiences, and as long as you feel you learned something from the effort, it was worth the effort. My recollection of playing your game was the problem with movement between the rooms. I suggest taking a look at using the room edges for this, rather than hotspots.

Well done to the winners, and thanks, Babar, for the pity vote you sent my way!

I'm going to call this done, since I'm not at all sure of what may happen after a doctor's appointment on Monday. I may not be able to do anything more with it, depending on what the doctor finds out.

Here's the link:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/v29hekj8q9e642p/GillPartyBus.zip/file

It should now be the complete game, or as complete as it may ever be.

Here's the screen capture:

Trying to make a diving suit for our favorite avatar. Accidently created a .3ds file. When I was trying to track down the .an8 file I wanted to add to my Anim8or project, I found the .3ds file and opened it in the Castle 3D viewer. It looked like this:

South Park's Kenny has nothing on our cow.  ;-)

Edit: Came up with this, for no particular reason.

Haven't rigged the seahorses, yet. Rigging is always an adventure, for me at least.

Quote from: Babar on Wed 06/11/2024 08:22:58@VampireWombat : I feel a bit dumb, but I can't get to the screen you shared in the screenshot. I don't see any interactable except the AC unit, and the edges of the screens don't go anywhere?

Spoiler
On the left edge of the screen is a hotspot, for some reason you have to use the hand icon to move between locations

Thanks a lot, Kitty Trouble. That will probably help get me moving on that game. I'd stalled out in two of the entries. Haven't tried the third one, yet, but I will.

Quick question... Since I'm setting my thing up as taking place under water, any opinions about using a GUI overlay to fake it? Is it even necessary? So far, with the overlay color I'm using, it just makes everything look foggy.

I've made quite a bit of progress, so far. Probably going to just be a single room, outside the intro and credits. I think I've made a decent walk cycle for my hero, and there will be fornicating limpets in my game. Hopefully Stupot will not have to X-rate my game.

Edit: I've made some unbelievable progress and, along with some good fortune, I'm able to play through the game I envisioned. I've more to do, for sure, but by tidying up a few things, it might stand as an entry, as is. It's almost entirely a video, but if anyone wants to see my WIP, here's the MediaFire link:

Spoiler

I haven't option-offed the dialogues, and I've put Roger to use in a couple of places. He'll be invisible in a completed game. Also, not sure that I've tested all the possible things that happen if you start backtracking through the areas. Still working on it, and still have most of the month remaining. Plenty of time for me to totally mess it all up.

Edit: Information about the link is no longer accurate. I messed up uploading the actual game, then found out I'd left off the intro room. I had to upload it, again, with the final version. You probably will be wasting your time on the link above, if it even works after I messed it up.

So, how about under a large body of water. Started toying around with this:

Not rigged, and not anatomically accurate.

They can have hitchhikers on their backs, including the fornicating limpet (Crepidula fornicata). Seems to offer some clever dialogue between the horseshoe crab and its riders: "what's going on back there, don't make me come back there, are we there yet"... Lots of possibilities. Fornicata, who can resist that? Now, to come up with something to challenge our hero, and a background in which the yet unknown tale can be told. I might be in on this one. Depends on what storyline I can come up with and whether I can rig my model.

Since Ponch is the only one in the class, he lacks all plausible deniability:

I picked up an odd head tilt along the way, and I'm not sure why it happened. Leaving it alone, since it didn't mess up anything important.

Working on this made me realize that those Pixar guys are really good at what they do.

Real cows play real football:

Spoiler

Untouched by human hands.

Beginning to think I've picked up the wrong cow model somewhere along the line? I thought I'd reduced his girth, but not looking like it, lately. I've now got a jumble of files that are, increasingly, becoming less manageable. Poor organizational skills, evidently.

Edit: Tried for ThreeOhFour's avatar:

Spoiler

Thinking about trying a different approach to the head, since I'm not liking the color change in the face. On the plus side, I might be able to add eyebrows to this one and get Tabata off my case. ;)

Edit:  @Tabata  Here be eyebrows:

Also figured out a fix for that coloring on the face that was bugging me, up above. This worked surprisingly well. At least, seems to me.

Edit: A friend commented that my take on ThreeOhFour's avatar reminded her of a num:

Ponch is so gonna get whacked.

I appreciate you have me playing proper sports and none of that unAmerican nonsense like soccer and (shock, gasp) cricket.

But shouldn't Baron be playing Canadian Fight Club, aka hockey?

Gave it a go:

Makes it three in a row for me. Still strikes me as poor form. Also, not sure there really is much interest in this. However, I am having fun, and I am learning stuff about Anim8or, so there's that, at least.

Today's effort:

Spoiler

I can't take any artistic credit for the abs. I found something on the web that would work. Sorry, Ponch, it's only a four pack. I suspect Baron drank the other two.

Edit: Tried my model on all fours:

Spoiler

Meh, regarding the walk cycle.

Edit: Wanted to try for a better four-legged walk cycle. Noted some other exercise possibilities:

Spoiler

No wonder Ponch has such a well-developed four pack. That looks like a pretty rough exercise regimen. But still not happy with that walk cycle.

Tried to give da Moo da pigskin and da uniform, in a manner of speaking.

Might be a suitable pose for Ponch's Hubba Bubba Football card?

Edit: So, anyway:

Edit: Moo is in the Cowmobile, spinning donuts.

Seriously tempted to put a set of cow horns on the hood, but Ponch objected. The animation revealed an issue, which I have hopefully fixed. Were I smart enough, I might have added smoke from the burning rubber. Alas, I'm not all that smart.

Probably poor form to post two in a row, so I apologize for doing just that.

The Moo Crew grabbed their masks and got into a little pre-Halloween hijinks:

I guess Dr. Moo never got the memo about Sci-Fi themed costumes. Then again, I guess Barbar has made it into space?

@Cassiebsg Sorry. Didn't have any suitable masks for that franchise.

I think Misj' gets my vote in all three categories. There certainly are a bunch of things to interact with. Nothing wrong with jfrisby's entry, I just liked the other one a bit more.

Quote from: Danvzare on Sun 27/10/2024 15:38:25Now that you've made Baron's and Captain D's avatars, you need to add them to the sport's stand with Ponch and the Darlek, so they can all enjoy it together.  :-D

Actually, I had something else in mind. I've got Dr. Moo with his pitcher pose and now have a tiny legged batter.

Spoiler

Not entirely happy with this one. Think I need more frames than I'm currently using.

Will consider putting them in the bleachers, as well.

Edit: @Danvzare  By your command... Sorry. Wrong franchise. So, anyway:

I could probably animate that flag? Just not sure how to do it when it's attached to The Braon's bones.

Edit:

Bit of bad news, for me. It appears my messy big file may have reached some kind of Anim8or limit, and I've lost some ground. I should be able to recover most of the stuff, but CapnD at bat got eaten along the way. I'm trying to subdivide the various characters, which I should have done from the get-go. Oh, well...

Thanks, Tabata. Gave me a smile. What's your stand on ears? I note Baron's Avatar has none, and neither does my model. Made a walk cycle:

Edit: Most folks don't know that Dr. Moo once played minor league baseball. Unfortunately, he'd suffer one of those Tommy John's injuries, and his career was cut short:

I note that often my imagination totally overloads my abilities. I have something in mind here, and the scene above is just a part of it. I'd need to develop it further to have Moo actually toss the ball.

Edit2: Also decided to attempt CaptainD's Avatar:

D's Avatar has no body shown, so I guess his body is mine, to do with as I choose.

Been working on Baron, but not done, and not rigged, since I need to add that goatee.

I note that with a slight change to that chest ornament, I could easily send Baron to Star Fleet Academy.

@Tabata, I still don't do eyebrows.  ;)

Edit: Worked on it a bit more:

I need to find out why the material on the shirt is moving so much. Most likely a weight painting issue. Now, when Baron meets Dr. Moo, he will have an appropriate greeting.

And just a quick FYI, for anyone interested: I work with Anim8or for this stuff.
