Ok, maybe I didn't hint that puzzle very well. Here's a couple of clues and the solution.

I simply hadn't tried doing that with those particular things.   :-D   Thanks for the nudge.  Looks like it might be possible for different endings in this game. Does the game have more than one ending?

Good first game! You should be proud of it.

Thanks for the comments. The restore game dialog and the "Key" in the inventory were in my "things to fix" mental list. But I always forget about the things I put there. Both fixed.
Here's the new version.
About the other issues...

Appreciate the quick fixes! Looks like I'm just plain stumped. I posted a plea for help here:

Hints & Tips / Club of Evil

This Mags game seems to have me stumped.

Spoiler

I can't seem to find a way past the Big Guy after he becomes a Vampire. I also can't seem to find a way to unblock the chimney, if that is an issue later? Any help would be appreciated, including outright spoiler(s).

Enjoyable little game. Wondering if Adeel is playing Dr. Jakhoff?    (laugh)  The cat sound drew the attention of both of my cats.

Edit: Wanted to add my favorite line from the game, something along the line of: "I do not like green legs of ham."

Well, I finished my first game: "Club of Evil".

Congrats! Trying to play it.

Spoiler
Think I may need the cross to get past the Vampiric Big Guy, but the pet rat seems to have made off with it. Did I miss something?

Other, minor things: Restore doesn't seem to list the saved games, but the load screen is working, once you can get to it. The info for the first inventory slot seems to be stuck on "Key." Seem to have trouble reentering the Cave after dining on Sofia. These may not be actual issues, just some comments.

Wait... the "demo" is 2-3 hours long?!

I think I may be the only one that mentioned time of play. I tend to be pretty dense with puzzles, so it may not be taking other folks that long to play it. Looks like time of play information might be useful to Daniel Thomas.

Liked the game, as well. Kind of an abrupt game exit, at least on my system. Has me wondering if something went haywire at the very end? Impressive.

Spent over two very enjoyable hours with the demo. Left me wanting to continue. Sad that you've canceled it! I don't expect that six years is a record for working on an AGS game, but that probably contributed to the project's dropping dead. Impressive game, on a lot of levels.

R. Steven Glanville, the guy doing all the coding on his Anim8or program, avoids burning out by taking a yearly three month summer vacation in Italy. He has also retired, likely with a pension that allows him to spend all that time in Italy. While he does maintain the Anim8or web site and responds to questions while in Italy, all the coding and feature additions have to wait for Fall to arrive. Take a long vacation if it will help you out.

I get worried at the thought of having you drop out totally. You may have the greatest knowledge base on the Engine and Editor, and you certainly seem to have "solved" quite a few issues that have cropped up over time. Whatever happens, I wish you the best!

1st: Grundislav
2nd: Grok
3rd: DBoyWheeler

Hard to decide between Grundislav and Grok. Think any of these three would work well as backgrounds: tons of stuff to click on.

Feeling obligated to, at least, mention the free program I use: Anim8or. It was left unchanged for quite a spell, but the program designer has retired and is making tons of changes to the program. It is about the only modeler I've tried that seems to work for me.

An entry:

Should probably keep working on it, but not sure I will.

Anim8or models, and Bryce render.

This BACKGROUND BLITZ will be about steampunk!

Steampunk, for those unfamiliar with the concept, is a blend between science fiction and fantasy with an Victorian aesthetic.

Not anything of mine, and not an entry, but might be inspirational in some fashion

Spoiler

First time I encountered an image of USS Choctaw (Civil War era), it struck me as the essence of steampunk.

You are correct sir!

Well, about it being Once Bitten (1985) at least... but her name is Karen Kopins ;) and I admit I was obsessed with her back in the day (nod)

This was also the movie that introduced me to Jim Carrey and I remember thinking, "this guy is a terrible actor... he'll never make it big".

Little did I know what the 90s would be like...

Made me think of Tom Hanks and Bosom Buddies. Better actor, but similar trajectory.

As a user of windows, what is preventing you from fully switching to Linux?

I still rely on a dial-up connection for most of what I do. I've never found a solution to the "WinModem" issue that worked for me.

Jack got it!

What Darth said. Good job. Was running out of screen shots.  ;-)

Just did a quick YouTube search, looking for something that was on my DVD. Link to a "making of" feature:

@ Mandle -- Does involve Pearl Harbor:

@ Jack -- The PT (MTB) boats do have a part to play:

@ Kumpel -- Tora! Tora! Tora! was filmed in color. This one was filmed in black and white. Both had what might be called "all star casts:"

Nope, and nope. Movie is, perhaps, overly long, and the special effects (explosions, etc) are not up to the standards even of the time frame of the movie being made. Still, it had full US Navy support, and, as a result, you get a lot of neat scenes aboard and around ships.

Couple more, which I'll hide just for the fun of it:

No expert here, but check line 8 in the original post. It's a FaceLocation script command that is not indented.

You got it Jwalt.

Always thought Bridge a great movie.

Another war movie. I find this shot oddly moving:
