Much better clothes than the original

Something like this?

It might be instructive, for me, to see what happens if I tried to get him to walk in this get-up. I'd have to weight paint it again. I may give it a try, but I will likely fail at it.

Edit:

Worked better than I expected. I still can't get the stuff to behave when I have a gal in a skirt take a seat. Reminds me of Carol Burnett's characters with those large hoop skirts; all will be revealed.

I dug back through the chaos of that salvaged drive, and I did find a non-subdivided version of the body I was trying to use for Adeel. I also thought Tabata might like to see the rest of Mr. Eyebrows. So, I worked this up:

And I thought it might be worthwhile to post an 80x80, unretouched version of the model.

I still have problems with faces; they don't look nearly this good in the side view. Working on it.

Hey, does this really mean what I think it means? Will you be transporting me to pre-partition times and make me an Indian soldier serving for my British empire? :-D

It does, but keep in mind it's only an acting gig.  ;-)  I've got problems with your model. It got subdivided, somewhere along the way, and is doing all sorts of odd things. I'll probably have to redo the body.

I also seemed unable to synchronize the salutes. Needs work, and not meant to offend. Those images may date to the colonial period, but they looked more recent. Should have checked some of the links to fix the time frame for sure. Sorry about that.

Sounds to me that Adeel enjoys traveling... ;)

Hope so. I intend to fit Adeel into something along these lines, with slightly different head gear

Caption this one: "Cudly Chewright, Royal Cownadian Mounted Police, reporting for duty, sir, eh."

Thought I might give Ponch a new hat to wear.

I still need the over-the-shoulder strap, and the lanyard, and a belt buckle. Oh, and the striped trousers. Then, what to do, eh...

PS When I went looking for images to base this on, I found some shots that make me think Adeel may have a part to play, even though it may involve moving him, again.

Btw, you do realize that I'm from Pakistan not India?

I checked your profile when I was working on that Coloring Ball, but I just couldn't resist the New Delhi Deal alliteration, so I moved you. I'm a weak, weak man. I'll try to keep you in the right country in future endeavors.

Are you afraid of eyebrows? Did an eyebrow bully you as a child? :=

I don't want to talk about it...

Truthfully, they're hard for me to do without messing up my meshes. If I subdivide, they also do strange things to me. Someone who knows what they're doing would probably have fewer problems, resulting in more eyebrows.

It's so nice to see that you're still raping playing (with) Ponch's Avatar. If at some point in future, you may require more avatars to satisfy your lust practising needs, may I recommend mine? ;-D

I'd actually already started on you. I used this in the Adeel's New Delhi Deli Coloring Ball image. I've only partially rigged it, but I'm farther along with yours than I am with Wolf's.

Tabata please note he also has no eyebrows.

This isn't the critics-thread, but I'd have to say that he looks a bit strange to me without eyebrows (roll)

Sorry, Tabata. I don't do eyebrows, reliably.

unfortunately, I can't see anything in that shape... :(
However, it does seem to be consensus that the "perfect" guy in on the left of the picture and the "green blob" guy is on the right...

I didn't see much, either, and what I did see missed Arjon's criteria, but what the heck:

Since the Monkey can fly, thanks to the Macaw, we have a Flying Monkey. Everybody knows they're evil. Alternatively, mayby the Macaw pooped on your car. I'm at a loss, but at least it gets Arjon off my back.

I keep working on faces, but they mostly just come out poorly. I came across an interesting face out there on the interwebs, a rugged, heroic, manly sort of fellow. Thought I'd give him a try:

More specially, search for "alligator eating cow".

Now to screw up yet another walkcycle...

Edit: It isn't very noticeable here, but decided to change the shape of the gator's face, at bit, that Alligator/Crocodile controversy, don't you know. Then thought about this:

Which should earn me some brownie points with at least one Forum member. Admittedly, I'm unsure about the gun, but I gave it a try.

Ponch traded in the canoe on something that made more noise and moves faster:

Tabata said, "No way! I have no death wish."

Don't know where it goes from here, but believe I need to Google Alligator images...

Dat Ol' Ponch, him Bayou Rat... Him need no star, no moon, no sign to get him whar he wanna go.

Now the question becomes, is Tabata there willingly, or has Ponch kidnapped her? Tabata, blink twice if you're being held against your will.

PS For any interested, I had to darken the water down to a really dark blue to get it to turn black in the renderer.

I'd feel like in mice-heaven if a little flower would drift along the boat (with a cheesy smell of course) (laugh)

I'll see what I can do. Cheesy might apply to what I come up with, but I can't guarantee the cheesy smell.

Need to work on those pads. Look more like green oil slicks.

Edit: Tabata's request also got me thinking about an actual night scene. I can't get it to render out like this, so here's the wireframe view, instead:

Foliage on the hillock is from Plantstudio. I grew the water lillies.

Couldn't make a joke out of this one. Ponch may not be in trouble here, unless the Baron finds out Ponch took Tabby out on a date.

Seem to be doing a lot with boats in them, at the moment. Unfortunately, they all leak. Asked about that on the Anim8or Forums. They're almost as nice as you guys.

So is that the title of the game you're going to make with all these?  Steamboat Ponchy?

This was never meant to be anything more than a bit of fun and a way to torment Ponch, one of many entertaining posters on this forum. The more I tinker with this stuff, the more I am coming to realize what a real accomplishment actually making a game truly is. I can't even seem to reliably make the art assets. Everything I do turns out flawed in one way or another. Lost a computer system last week. It had all of the models I've made recently. They were able to salvage the hard drive, since the motherboard was what had failed. If I had lost those models, it likely would have been the last you'd have heard from me. I do have one game concept I keep returning to, but I'm stalled out on an issue with misbehaving skirts for my female models. Can't seem to find the work around, or a reasonable way to fake it.

Snarky lamented that interiors were under represented in the Blitz, and since I'd been working on a kid's bedroom recently, I guess we can try for a bedroom suitable for a child. It can be from any time frame: past, present, future. It can be gender specific, or gender neutral, as you desire. It can be the bedroom you'd have loved to have had as a kid. Or it can be the bedroom you actually had, which was, in my case, the laundry room, since I shared it with a washing machine and a deep freeze. You can pity me for coming up with lame Blitzes, but sleeping in the laundry room had its perks; the freezer almost always had popsicles.

For the sake of this, let's define child as pre-teen to late teen. Nurserys can wait for another Blitz.

     Criteria:

Is it believable as a child's bedroom?

Would it make a good background image for use in a game?

          Does it show artistic merit?

Need inspiration? Seem to recall Resonance and Epiphany both had examples of a child's bedroom. Not that I'm a fan of Wadjet Eye, just saying...

I'm establishing a poor track record, here. Nevertheless, I'll post something shortly. I'll try to keep it simple and avoid the long reading assignment.
