Looks nice!

One thing I did notice however is that the prices on the menu board are a bit high for the 1950s...

$1 in 1950s money is the equivalent of about $10 in 2014 currency. This means that some of the stuff of your menu board costs the equivalent of around $50 in today's money! (laugh)

Good eyesight, you have. I'm surprised you can see much of anything. I'm probably not as far off as you may think, all the prices list as ".$.xx." I need to find a font with the cent sign.  ;-)  I'll try to upload a view of the menu board, but it'll take a tick or two. I am concerned about the prices I listed. I was alive back then, but I didn't have to pay for anything. Appreciate the comment, and the 1/10 ratio on the currency, which is useful information! The intended time frame is somewhere between 1955 and 1960, or there abouts.

Edit: A jpeg shot of the Menu Board:

T Think those 3d pictures will be good to use in games.

Someday, hopefully. I'm not always able to get them to do what I want them to do. They're a finicky group.

Aaaaeeeyyy! Something new for The Fonz, er, The Ponch:

Surely this is the next Sam & Max. "The Dirty Adventures of Mop and Bucket".

(laugh)

So, I made another mop and tried again:

Disney did it better, but our mouse is nicer!

I was trying to animate a mop and bucket. What I have the mop doing struck me as, almost, a walkcycle. So, anyway...

This might be a case of working on something too long, but this struck me as funny.

I ran the five frames through Gimp and made this. It isn't quite what you had in mind in view of what you said about frame one after three, I think, but it does move:

Gimp is free and can make animated gifs, but it will take a few tries to understand the process. Armageddon suggested Gimp to me some time ago, and I think kindly of him every time I use it.

This particular "project" seems to be holding my interest, an unusual thing; I tend to move in ten different directions at once. May be why I'm not getting all that much done. So, anyway:

The intent here is a motel restaurant from the last half of the 1950s and in a rural US area. I want to have two conversations going on here: A guy at a table talking to a gal on a stool, and a couple talking in one of the booths.  I've done some modeling, and now have some specific questions.

I intially didn't think I'd need labels on the Ketchup bottles, but the more I look at it, the more I think I need them. Opinion?

The tables and booths front windows. I can probably do the windows by the booths, but I'm curious about how to handle the windows by the table? Currently, I think I'd just put in a partial wall, and let it go at that, just enough to suggest that there is something there, without blocking the views.

Any opinions about the likelyhood of a Jukebox here, keeping in mind the time frame (late 50s) and location (rural Nebraska)? I'm thinking more along the lines of the small control units at the booth tables, rather than a big Wurlitzer in the corner.

As always, feel free to rip up my constructions. You folks always give good feedback.

Edit: Added the jukebox. Does a few things.

Edit2: Continue to add things. Also played with the lights, a little.

I'm going to risk bumping this thread, although I'm honestly running out of things to do to with Ponch's avatar. I'd watch a couple of Pink Panther movies this afternoon, and since working on Tabata's avatar had already made me think about turning her into a panther... Well...

I believe the glass texture in Anim8or is a fairly recent addition. It does seem to work, but I need to play with it some more. I used it for Cowseau's magnifying glass. Now, off to find the minkey...

Ever wonder why, as you've gotten older, the number of Easter Eggs in your basket, left there by the Easter Bunny, has fallen off, substantially? I submit EB has a nefarious cousin, who is ripping you off. I give you The Burglar Bunny.

Happy Ghost day. I'd suggest a big piece of cake, but in view of all those Spring Break screenies, you'd probably prefer some broccoli. ;)

I would suggest softening the edges of the bed and sofa, to make get them to have that "soft" and comfortable look. And separate the sofa's pillows from being just one block. ;)

As for the level of detailing, that would depend what you want to do with the model.

Beveled the edge on some surfaces, and tried it on a spare mattress. Also brought Tabata and some friends into the image just for the heck of it.

Running out of room. "Need a bigger boat."   (laugh)

Hard to form an opinion, since the "final" game isn't out yet. If Dave brings the series to a logical, satisfying conclusion, it might be okay. For example, Serenity ends the Firefly TV series, but wasn't very satisfying for this viewer. Personally, I think Dave could have safely strung Blackwell out a few more episodes, maybe even the two additional games he initially planned beyond number five. Dave Gilbert seems to be making all the right decisions, but time will tell.

What's this brown/golden thing supposed to be? Can't quite figure it out.

I think it's  supposed to be the place for Baron, isn't it?

Tabata must take her smileys sailing, on occasion. It doesn't have to be Baron, only Ponch/KnottyBeard appears to need a stool to see over the steering wheel.

It appears that the toilet/shower are combined. Link to the barge I'm trying to model:

I think you have a poltergeist!

Very likely... Fixed a couple of things, gave the poltergeist something new to play with, and worked on the shower (ineffective).

If anyone is interested, these are all morphs.

I worked this up and am relatively happy with it. I do note an issue with the door on the sink. I also did some copy/paste operations that created some unexpected animations. Here it is:

Any general guidance about modeling stuff: I never know how deep to go with my models?

To boldly go where none have gone before...

This would also work in "that other thread," but I choose to dump it here. The light panels were a pain.

I seem to be neglecting everyone's favorite cow, but started working on this, another AGS notable:

Supposed to be yawning. If I could pixel 1/100th as well as Miez, I wouldn't be messing around with 3D.

I can't seem to get bones to work "right" in the hands. They are hard to weight paint. I thought I'd give "morphs" a try.

Rather than critical response about my model, what I'd like to know is what other gestures might be useful. I figure the middle finger and the Vulcan greeting might be appropriate. Any other suggestions?

At this point in time, I not sure how reusable this is going to be, but I did learn some things.

Found this in a trunk. Don't know, for sure... Might be from one of the Mittens, just don't know when or which one. The group waving to folks, while Problem fishes off the fantail. Or, maybe, they're about to collide with something and the crew is trying to wave them off, while Problem fishes off the fantail.

I'd already given Problem a baton, since he's one of those musical types. Just scaled it up to make the fishing pole. Probably should have given Ponch a lasso, since that kinda, sorta, looks like what he's doing. Yeehaw, Texas.

Someone else to model.

Color this 'un pink, and I've got the Pink Panther, too. Think I need a longer tail... Oh yeah, and smilies.

Edit: Decided to make a shirt and give her something to do other than just stand there and look beautiful.
