Kiss the cow... He's Irish, don't you know.

Edit: Decided to give Problem some problems, too.

No clue on the movie, but the second pic reminded me of the Mittens 2013 photo of Miez looking for the USB stick that was misplaced.

Besh, happy birthday, and thanks for CD3D. The demo was very impressive, imho. Sorry it didn't quite work. Nice to find out you're still around.

Another option might be The Castle Game Engine. I grabbed some RON assets and put them into a few image controls dropped on a form:

Engine uses Pascal and the Lazarus IDE. I've yet to get some of the examples to run, so my mind is still not made up. Castle does both 2D and 3D. Not nearly as user friendly as AGS.

Happy birthday, Waheela, Queen of the Party Snacks.

You might take a look at this one:

http://castle-engine.sourceforge.net/engine.php

By its nature, your models will be "exposed" to any and all, and I have not been overly impressed by the few animations I've seen in the examples, but I just started playing with it. I'm not able to give it a thumbs up or down, yet. It's Pascal based, but using the Lazarus IDE does a good job of hiding that fact. Copy/paste operations between Begin and End statements in the various classes available through Lazarus has, so far, made it simply a matter of changing text entries to point it to the model you want to use. At some point, it will involve coding in Pascal, I have no doubt.

Irrlicht also looked good, but I don't have VC++, and I'm reluctant to try and get it. If you care to, take a look at CD3D:

If you can figure it out, you're smarter than I am, but the demo knocked my socks off. CD3D may be too limited for what you have in mind, however.

I don't intend to derail this thread, because I am finding the question, concerns, and thoughtful responses very interesting. Still, I couldn't resist...

Indeed... Burt Lancaster in an action packed role:

With a large supporting cast, and a director with a love of those large screen panoramas:

Clue #2

The movie uses maps a couple of times to help the audience keep track of the various factions in motion. Here's one of the maps:

GroundHog Day is, indeed, a good movie.

This movie remains one of my favorites, but defending its political incorrectness has become difficult, over time.

In fairness, the movie pokes fun at everything and everybody.

Ponch has invaded yet another world. Eighty frames, so might take a tick or two to load it.

Disclaimer -- No Ponches were injured in the filming of this piece.

Didn't quite hit the mark on the kick. Harder than it looks.

For he's a jolly good fellow... But I think Baron and NotLucy are plotting against him.

I might try something with this, but the game doesn't seem to run on my system. I know this isn't the place to ask for info on getting a game to run, but I thought you might know. I do have DOSBox on this system (came with some GOG games), but I've no clue to getting stuff to run with it. I'd rather have some feel for the character from the game, rather than making a stab in the dark.

Edit: Played with DOSBox just a little bit, and the game appears to run. I'll take a look at it. Hardest part was finding the DOSBox exe file. It wasn't showing up with "Find file." Gog tucked it away in one of the game folders that needs it to run in Windows.

Probably not what you want/need. I need to do some more with the hands, if I can. Face is my usual junk.

Edit 1/24:

Strange runs okay, but I seem to be coming up short of time. I hoped to play through it, to get a sense of his ethnicity. Jumped on in, anyway. Did this:

Edit 1/25:

I always get disappointed with these, when brought down to game size:

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/bScottsForward1_zps61b675ec.gif[/imgzoom]

I'm really thinking these aren't what you want/need. But here they are, anyway:

Indeed, Ponch possesses many talents. One might even say he is possessed:

Stupot+'s fly drove me nuts the first few times I saw it. Had me looking for the flyswatter, he did. This was in the olden days, before he shrunk it down in size. By popular demand? I wonder?

Bump

Pinback also won the Tune Contest, and the composers, over there, are debating revolting and posting their own topic. Any suggestions about what should happen over here?

@Nikolas - I didn't take offense. I got a chuckle. You should check the "Ponch is in trouble" thread in the Rumpus Room, for a fuller understanding. No, wait... Don't do that, since it mentions the cow we weren't mentioning. Sorry about that.

I've got a spot, now, so I continued working on it. The original intent was the Snoopy Dance. The good thing about sucking with this stuff, is that no one associated with the Peanuts' copyright will ever admit that my dog is Snoopy.  <sigh>

The thigh muscles don't pop right, and I need to fix the area under the arms. I did put in a blink morph, but this doesn't show it off all that well.

Nikolas could have seen a chicken in the model, as well as his cow. It's a multipurpose model.

Edit: In view of Nikolas fat cow comparison, I put NotSnoopy on a weight reduction program. And Tabata's cute gif, above, made me do this:

Thin NotSnoopy didn't want to bend into this shape. Don't know if fat NotSnoopy would have. And sorry Tabata, I don't have a NotWoodstock. Best I could do at this point in time.
