Both Unlady and JoshuaSmyth had wonderful entries, so it was tough to decide.

Atmosphere - Unlady
Composition - Unlady
Functionality - JoshuaSmyth

I liked the second, "hidden" version of Unlady's club better than the first. It looked much better on my screen.

Happy Catday, Cat.

Well, I don't know... This particular costume might be better suited to Cat, or Waheela, or our hostess, in view of my gender, but this is what I glimpsed in the shape when I turned it around a bit:

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/tabBallTryWitchy2_zpsa364d8c6.png[/imgzoom]

So, we can do more than one of these? I'll have to study the shape some more. I'm reasonably sure there are more things in there.

Edit:

A second image in the shape.

Mouseketeer? Mais non, I have made the faux pas.

Edit2:

Harder to "see things" when the shape is turned on its side. Dug this out, but not very happy with it:

Yo, Furball! Trick or treat.

Edit3:

Using up all the ideas. Saw this one a while ago. Had time to play with it this evening:

Castumes? What freakin' castumes?

So, I guess I'll have to cease and desist, now. Had fun with this Coloring Ball, in particular.

Tabata gets both votes from me: Preference and Message. I'd also give UnLady an honorable mention, as it was a tough choice between the two.

Well done, everyone, including the ones that were disqualified. Where were you all last month; certainly not looking through keyholes.  (laugh)

Found some interesting photos on the web. The club I'm trying to model is down in Rio:

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/forClub1png_zps9ed29deb.png[/imgzoom]

Very interesting approach used by the club for the lighting.

Modeled in sPatch. Rendered in Bryce 4 (mad at my copy of Bryce 7 at the moment). I'll be adding more to this, if time allows. Taking a while to render this out in Bryce 4, so for now, I skipped the antialiasing pass.

Edit:

Added some stuff. I have a scale issue here, and I may try to fix it. Detail of the bar:

I also felt a contractual obligation to provide a "light show:"

Edit 2:

@Selmiak - I didn't like the textures there, either, for different reasons. I played with them, a little. Also toyed with a few other things:

Edit 3:

Added some patrons:

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/BlitzPatrons1_zps9480ccf9.png[/imgzoom]

These are DAZ Studio LowRez figures. Rest was mostly modeled in sPatch. I did use Hexagon to make the "little black dress" for the gal, but the guy is wearing clothing that he comes with. I haven't figured out "morphing," so my little black dress won't conform to animations. Rendered in Bryce 7. DAZ Studio used to pose the patrons, and the flower stencil was from a ClipArt collection. At this point, I've found enough errors to warrant starting over, but I probably won't do it. This, then, becomes my Blitz entry.

The view from my window in about a month...

Early? Well, they're already selling the candy, so I guess not.

I'll give it a try, but not making any promises about actually completing the tasks.

Got "Kinky Island - Demo" from 2006. Began wandering around the island, taking in the "scenery."

Where's my trophy, btw? ???

Right here:

I debated extending this contest, but my shape seems to have generated next to no interest. So, I'm declaring Adeel the winner, and I hope his shape will generate more activity.

Congrats, Adeel!

This does look good. One comment about the side views, however: straight on side views only let us look at their ears and cheeks. It would be visually more intersting if we could see just a bit more of their facial expressions.

Ever since Alicia and Alfred Silverfish moved into their new digs at the Public Library, Alicia has had a feeling of impending doom. Perhaps an Astrology reading using that nearby Astrolabe would calm her fears. Or, make them worse?

Working at rigging the bug in Anim8or. Not complete, by any means:

Modeled in sPatch, and rendered in Bryce 7. Folks, don't forget that Coloring Ball is also in progress!

Critics' Lounge / Lowrez question

I bought a "LowRez" bundle from DAZ. They say the characters are meant as background characters, and are not suitable for closeups. I've been impressed with them, and I worked this up through available morphs for the characters:

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/breezyLorettaSan_zps421849a2.gif[/imgzoom]

I don't like the darkness around the nose, and I'm not seeing a way to "move" the bangs on her forehead, but otherwise, she seems very suitable for close up work. Am I not seeing something?
#573
Congrats, UnLady. An interesting image that draws me into your game world. Well done! You too, TGames.

@Adeel, Sunny - You're probably correct, only I got this dire warning when I tried to create a topic. I suspect I had the authorization, since I won, but I was still reluctant to proceed. See what happens when a nOOb gets to run things. Mr. Miez would have done it properly, and his shape would have been well enough crafted that it wouldn't have been open to interpretation. (laugh)
#575
I decided on a “classic” shape. Not much to work with. You can resize it, but the end product must still limit the field of view; it is a keyhole, after all. Can't wait to see what you folks come up with.

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/SeptCBKeyhole1_zps6c8b7462.png[/imgzoom]

Will it be a leather-clad Tabata, in her kitchen, disciplining her smiley collection?
Will it be Cat, in skin colored leggings, doing her daily, ultra booty workout?
Will it be Miez, at his computer, pixeling another masterpiece?
Will it be Ponch, in his bathtub, doing unspeakable things to his rubber ducky?

When you peeked through the keyhole, what was it that you saw?
#576
Thanks. I have a real feeling that more voters would have given Miez the victory; I'm still fascinated with his image.

I'll endeavor to come up with a shape, shortly. This is my first time running one of these, so please let me know if I do anything wrong.

My vote goes to JWALT - very clever use of the shape (especially with the face!) and I like the fresh colors...

Now, if they'd only figure out a way to keep me from eating the paint.

On sale today, only $19.95. But is it art?

Without the intention of starting a 3D vs. 2D argument, I do have a question. I consider myself a better modeler than artist, which pushes me in the X,Y,Z direction, instead of just X and Y. I can usually make inorganic stuff that looks okay, but organic forms like men and beasts have proven illusive elusive. I've been buying stuff from DAZ 3D recently. When do I truly cease being an “artist” and become a set director? Most of the stuff in a scene will still be mine, and animating the characters still requires my input, but is there some cross over point? Just curious.

Edit - Spelling/usage error.

I had tried several different things with the bus bench, and nothing I did in Bryce corrected the color problem. I brought the bench model into DAZ Studio to help with the character animations, and the bench looks good.

[imgzoom]http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o756/jwalt10705/onTheBench_zps52f01698.png[/imgzoom]

This image has also got me thinking about the street scene. Most of what I had in mind takes place on the bench, so maybe that's all I need. The street was just meant to generate a little walking room, with a lame attempt at a bit of comedy.

BTW, these are some lower resolution characters I recently purchased. They work in DAZ Studio and seem pretty versatile. They look better with the BVH files, too, although there are still issues.
