I guess running through the house like an idiot and watching my own body did work out. Ow...and spending a bit more time on an animation is a good idea...the first one took me about two hours...the second about two nights...

damn good backgrounds...Everything seems to fit in perfectly in the style..maybe the landscape on the background could be slightly darker, seems a bit to faint to me....

good job!

good background...I like it. PureGhostGR's addition makes it even beter. You could for instance open one of those ' body drawers' slightly just yo give a hint of what could be hidden in one of those. Like Ghost said framing the picture a bit more would be a good idea...
What would you expect in a morge..maybe some severed body parts on formeldahyde.. ? hmm maybe not...but it would add to the atmosphere....Anyways I think since it is supposed to be a creepy place it deserves some creepy additions...

Good job relay like it so far..

I use Photoshop with Imageready...works pretty good for me...
and AfterFX as well...which works realy good even for image sequences...
#148
that's pretty good...

+ Good composition.
+ Nicely drawn.

- Lack of depth. You could add some highlights and shadings. The brown  area for instance could use some cooler tones in the back and warmer tones in front to bring in depth. Also you seem to be inconstistend on this shading thing...the tree has good shading just like the dropshadow from the bushes...but the log is just plain brown just like the leaves on the tree and the bushes.
- The area seems to be a bit light for a night. I think the use of slightly darker colors would look better.

hope this helps a bit...

I'd say that wah pedal looks weird....shouldn't it be aligned with his foot ? Add a bit of shades and highlights especialy to the drums...
I agree on the bassdrums...they do look a bit weird but I can't realy put my finger on it...maybe if you do add some shadows and stuff it will look better...Overall I allready dig this picture...it's obviously not finished yet...so I'd say just finish it and it's probably gonna be even better.
good work...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who fucks things up badly ;))
well I didnt lost any sprites on my machine just the imported sprites in the sprites manager luckily...which makes it impossible to code any futher as everyone knows ;)) Now 3 hours later after loads of copy pasting and a zillion clicks futher I'm getting closer to the point where everything went wrong...but still alot to do...could have been worse...the scripts were still there only the sprite manager was fucked up...and I just can't sleep before I restored everything back to it's old state ;))  I'll go back to it right away....still have to wait a few hours before I can finaly go to bed and it's allready  3:30 in the morning...Geez ;))

Cheers guys!

Now this is starting to piss me off! My machine crashed again while I was scripting on my game...Again after the reboot all sprites were gone!
My last backup is 5 days old, and i've been coding like hell in those 5 days...Now I have to start all over again from that backup...$#@#%^&!!

Ow ya don't have to react on this post...just had to get rid of agression...can't script while I'm this agressive ;))

Guess there no way to avoid those anoying error messages of missing sprites ? (Yeah...I know the answer)...

Well I feel better now...thanx for listening...

Cheers guys! thanx for the feedback. Sometimes ya need others opinion if ya run out of ideas, it sure helped...got some fresh ideas now!

There's hardly any shading on that dude...he look pretty flat now...agree on the arms as well....
There's an enormous space between his body and his arms...some people do stand like your sprite does I myself find it extremely uncomfortable/unnatural to take a pose like that...I would advise to have a look at real people and their postures.

The interface for playing the instrument is already coded. What I meant was...If the player has to solve how to play the song by reading it from some kind of musicsheet and never heard the song before it wouldn't be as fun as playing that same song while you actualy know the song. This could indeed be solved by some teaching process like you refered to. Another way would be to choose some well known song which most people know. But since it must be a delta-bluesy song I'm not sure if most people know any songs that would fit the genre.  Are there any blues titles you think most people know, from that era ? I can name loads of songs but I'm not sure if they are well known to others.

Cheers!

Hey guys...I'm doing this adventure game set in the delta-blues era.
All puzzles and plot have been written except for one puzzle. The main
character is equiped with a harmonica (blues harp in c).
Now for this specific puzzle the player has to play a specific song (needless to say a blues song would be best) to trigger an event in the game.  I made an interface which allows the player to play any note that you could play on a harmonica in C major, 10 hole. Thus playing a song in these relatively notes
http://www.michael-thomas.com/music/class/harmonica_notes.htm
is possible.
Now my problem is the puzzle would probably be a dissapointment if the the player is trying to play a song that he has never heard (thoug I will give the player directions on how to play the specific song). I could go like "Yeah I'll let him play that cewl lead belly or robert johnson riff" but I'm not sure if people would apreciate playing a song they've never heard of.  I could realy use some advise on some songs, preferably old bluess songs, that would be known to most people and are not to difficult to play for someone who never touched an instrument (Okay we're talking about a virtual instrument, but still). Anything that comes in mind to you guys is more that welcome.

I know, this is a probably a strange question/topic but it's been bugging me for a few weeks so I just give it a try since I couldn't find a cewl solution myself.

Cheers and thanx in advance,

Thanx guys...I'll go for sprite sheets in the future...
Tim: You're right it's not that hard...but I was just wondering if there's   some hidden feature to import sprites I missed out on.
Well I'll be gone then importing sprites ;))

Okay I'm doing this character animation which took me about 70 frames.
Now I want to import those 70 frames into the sprite manager but no way I'm going to import them all one by one by clicking the "Import new sprite" button 70 times :) I tried importing them as a flc file but didn't work out cause it kinda fucks up the frames....
It's probably been asked before (I couldn't find it on the forums though) but is there any efficient way of importing multiple sprites into the sprite manager without suffering from RSI afterwards ?

Cheers!

I like the sprites pretty much...but since you're aiming for a discworldish
look I took the ogre and gave it a quick edit.

I noticed the discworld sprites uses black outlines. Also they have a rather cartoony feel to 'em. I chose to exaggerate the ogres muscles a bit more. He looked rather timid to me for an ogre. Also a bit stiff maybe. I also made his arms a bit longer and his legs a bit shorter

Hope this helps a bit...
