Yeah you really have a good point ;) Most people here (including me) are really used to the actors "german voices". Sometimes I recognize the voice of an actor that was used for another actor in a movie, well it's pretty confusing ;)
Personally I prefer the original versions of movies (most likely the english one), but there is like one movie per week in english here at a cinema, so you can only buy the DVDs to get the original sound. There are some (very rare) movies and series on TV sendt in 2-channel-sound, which means there are two mono streams, one in german and one in english. I think the only TV series currently airing in 2-channel-sound is "Desperate Housewives".

But back to topic: Ankh rules ;D

I bought Ankh a few days ago and already started to play. If you liked the Monkey Island series, you will simply love Ankh. It has a lot of humor (Old LucasArts games style), the graphics are neat and puzzels are pretty original. There are a lot of allusions to other adventure games (e.g. a little dialogue: "I'm your lost heir!" "You are Guy Al Brusha?")

I hope this game will be distributed outside of the german speaking countries, because it is really great and if you have the chance to play the game - do it or better buy it :)

The german sound/voices are btw. great! They used voices of known dubbing artists. Assil, the main character, has the german voice of Ben Stiller. Other featured voices are the german ones of Renée Zellweger or John Cleese. Well I hope the english voices are that good too :)

Leisure Suit Larry Coming to the N-Gage 7/22/2004, by Chad

Nokia announced that it will co-publish and develop Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party for the N-Gage platform. Based on Vivendi Unviersal Games' classic Leisure Suit Larry series, the N-Gage offering is a 3D adventure that challenges gamers to help Larry get the 'action' he so desperately craves.

Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party is the first handheld version of the series and contains gameplay and features that are only available on the N-Gage platform. In addition to the steamy situations and dialogue, the game is the first N-Gage title to feature cell-shading. Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party is expected to be released in November 2004.

"Leisure Suit Larry is one of the most loved â€" and pitied â€" video game characters of all time and has a fanatically loyal fan base," said Pasi Pölönen, Director, Games Publishing, Nokia. "Nokia is thrilled to bring such addictive, hilarious gameplay, to gamers."

Gamers assume the role of Larry Lovage, nephew of the original Larry Laffer, and are immediately challenged by Larry's lack of social skills, charm, style and luck. In Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party, players explore an extensive and highly detailed 3D college campus, while solving puzzles and engaging in risqué activities. As they search for the ultimate good time, gamers bump into Rosie Palmer, the head cheerleader at Larry's college. Attempting to win over Rosie's heart, Larry is thoroughly embarrassed by her jock boyfriend Chuck Rockwell -humiliation never stopped Larry before and he is determined to do anything to be with Rosie.

Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party features more than 30 hours of gameplay, 10 outrageous characters, and non-stop steamy dialogue and situations. In addition to Larry, Rosie and Chuck, players will encounter other hysterical personalities such as Loosey, the hot, manipulative cheerleader, Nigh T. Mishons, Larry's soda-guzzling, video game playing friend and Professor Drew Barringmore who prefers letting it all hang out.

Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party offers gamers the opportunity to test their social skills against others via head-to-head Bluetooth multiplayer gaming including up to four turn-based two-player mini-games .

Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Party is being developed by TKO Software, and co-published by Vivendi Universal Games and Nokia.

Primus: But English isn't a Romantic language- it's Germanic with random bits of Romantic thrown in after the Norman invasion of England.

old english pronounciation was pretty similar to (old)german... And there are a whole lot of similarities between words e.g. house <> haus, mouse <> maus, knight <> knecht, night <> nacht, home <> heim..............................................

a slovene magazine just published lucasfans remake of Maniac Mansion.  They gave all the credits and all. But I don't think they actualy spoke with lucasfan.

I don't think they actually spoke with Lucas Arts, which could be a much bigger problem imho

some facts about austria:

1.) this country has it's roots deep in nationalsocialism and catholicism - the two largest evil things I can think of
2.) this country started two world wars
3.) our athlets suck nearly in all sports, except skiing and snowboarding
4.) nearly everywhere are mountains
5.) And most of Austrians only like foreigners when they come as tourists......

myths:
1.) I don't know a single person that wears leather trousers or knows how to yodel - but there are such people (i know that from television ;) )
2.) People also don't look like Mozart, Beethoven, Sissi and all that stuff
3.) We don't all live on mountains, together with cows... yet there are such people....
4.) We don't speak "austrian", we speak german, and in some parts slovenian or croatian

that was a little overview on austria...... well there are some positive things too, but I just didn't feel very positive...  :-\

what the heck?

he was asking for a _SNES_ tool and nothing else! If someone asks you for the way to the airport, do you answer him "Well, I'd suggest you to go to McDonalds, coz describing that way is a lot easier for me"?

just my â,¬ 0.02...... ;)

AGS Games in Production / Re: Project-X

the details on your latest bg really astonish me.. I hope you'll actually finish this project and this will not have the same fate as some of the most promising games in production around here (such as Darth's star wars adventure, this rendered pirate game...)

I cross my fingers for this project!

I had to learn Lation 5 years at school and this going to be the first time this knowledge will be of any use :D

the story looks quiet promising so far - but you should definitely spend more time on your bakgrounds! Did you use an airbrush tool for them (e.g. in photoshop)? I think it would look better if you'd do them without antialiasing!

I found a snes rom maker *Wakes up from dream* But really...is there any? :P i mean...how do they make the snes games?

they code them... it's quite likely that they do them in asm and compile it with some special snes kit... dunno.... but I'm quite sure there's no such thing as AGS for SNES, if you were looking for that ;)
