I appreciate your attempt to help.  I did try selecting the .zip.001 file from within the 7zip GUI and then click extract, and it gives me the error message.  Oh well I think this is one that is a lost cause for my computer.  Looked interesting though and use of AI was intriguing.

Probably a dumb question, but how does one extract these game files ending in .001 and .002?  Is there some kind of .ZIP joiner program to combine the two to then extract?  I use 7ZIP myself and I am at a loss haha

If I recall correctly, I just extracted the .001 file, then it went on automatically to .002 (which was in the same folder). I believe I used 7zip as well.

Thanks for reply.  My experience was I tried to use 7zip to extract the .001 file but it didn't recognize it as a compressed file format.  Likely because the file is .zip.001.  So I tried renaming it to .001.zip and then it gave an error saying something went wrong.  So I am at a loss, I assume I am making a dumb mistake but not sure what that dumb mistake is haha.

Oh my, I have not been around much in 2024 but have definitely enjoyed Slasher's AGS games over the years.  I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.  I'm sure I have quite a few in my saved queue as well to try out ...

On a related note, has anybody played the Seinfeld themed horror/adventure game built using the Playstation 4 game Dreams?

Sounds quite interesting (and good!).  Only the first part is playable, but the devs say much more is to come.

Bizaron - the download to Joe's Miserable Life may be corrupted at mediafile?  I've tried several times and each time I open up the file it says it can't recognize it.  Usually, .rar files give me no problem which makes me suspect there is an issue.

Starlite Moon - I hope you reconsider your decision to just remove the game and say the heck with it.  There were lots of folks (me included!) that were looking forward to the finished product.

It sounds like you are/were pretty burned out with developing the game.  I can *totally* understand that feeling.  It is/was your baby, and you poured an ungodly amount of time and effort into it just to get to this point.  My 2 cents is to keep the game up as is for now and take some time off to get away from it.  Come back when you are feeling more positive and start tackling the bug fixes.  Just remember, this is your game and your timeline, so no pressure to fix anything until you are ready.  As others said, there is a nice beta testing community here that will work with you to identify any problems (especially the game breaking ones). 

You are correct Adeel, it was my version of 7zip that was the issue here.  Sorry for the false alarm.

I've tried downloading several times from the above link in the game page and then unzipping using 7zip, and I get the following error message:

'Unsupported compression methos for <file name>' where it lists each file name contained in the zip.  It creates the directory, but all the files are 0kb in size so something is wrong.  Maybe it is 7zip that is at fault?  I don't know, I've used it thousands of times to unzip all files successfully.  Anybody else having this problem?

I'm pumped to try this remake out HandsFree, thank you very much for seeing this project through to the end!!

From your list of improvements over the original, I think I'll enjoy my playthrough of your version.  I did not liked the timed version or the dead ends.

I'd definitely be willing to see/play a good remake of Black Sect.  I've heard some about this obscure adventure, but I could never locate an English version to play.  Even if I did, sounds like I would have had a tough time making progress!  I've never been a fan of timed games.

Am I the only one having trouble downloading?
