Ah, I wish I had known to press ESC for saving instead of F9.  :-\  At least it shouldn't take me too long to get back to where I was stuck.  Reading through this thread has given me some ideas.  Hopefully I'll get farther when I try again!

Hints & Tips / The Devil's Shroud

I'm very stuck on this game, although I've completed a decent amount of tasks withing the game.

Spoiler
Does anyone know how to get more evidence to present to the Abbot regarding the murder?  I've taken the picture of the blood and matched it up with the picture in the book but the game says that isn't enough.  I have a feeling I need to do a Ogle search on the PC, and I've tried typing in a dozen variations of the Followers of Satan or Satan's Followers but have had no success.

This game is pretty fun, and the graphics are very respectable.Ã,  I was having a fun time hunting down the mystery, but now I am stuck.Ã,  Can someone who has finished the game help me over on the hints forum?Ã,  ;D

One other thing, I can't get the save game screen to work.Ã,  I pick a slot and type in the name in the red rectangle area.Ã,  I tried hitting the save button to the right, as well as return and a bunch of other keys but no luck.Ã,  To make matters worse, hitting the play button on that screen restarts the game, including the long intro that can't be skipped.Ã,  :PÃ,  Any way to save games that I'm not seeing?

Okay, here goes.

Spoiler
Once you replace the mouth piece of the horn with the one in your room, you need to go to the evil professors lab (bottom of the map).Ã,  I remember playing the horn in there and causing a secret opening.Ã,  I forget if you have to select the horn and then click on the light fixture on the ceiling, or if just using the horn from within the inventory is enough.Ã,  I'd just keep trying different ways of using the horn in that room and the opening should happen!Ã,  ;D

This is a pretty cool game, challenging puzzles for sure.  I think I may be done for though now that I've gotten to the arcade game with the pipes.  Woah, that is just wicked tough!!  I'm usually okay with arcade games, but this one is making me insane.  :P

Hi Primus,

If you fixed the horn so it blows correctly, there is a specific place you need to blow it in.  Using the horn was the one part of this game that was frustrating.  Took me a while before I finally figured out how to properly use it.  I'm hesitant to post blatant spoilers because I don't want to ruin the game for anyone.  How does one post using spoiler tags?

I also thought this game was pretty well done.  Look forward to more episodes!

What I meant to say was, before you can use the powers of the horn, you need to fix it so you can play it properly.  The game gives a clue as to what is wrong with the horn when you try to play it.  You can play it by manipulating it from within the inventory screen.

What happens when you try to play the horn?  Is there a way to fix the problem?  ;D

I am well and truly stuck at this game as well.  What hole were you able to stick the hay in?   :o  I wasn't able to do that.  Right now, I have a leaf, the hay, a stick, a sock plant, a scroll, and stethoscope.  Have no clue what to do next... :-\

Quick question...is getting all the answers right at the piano lesson necessary to complete the game?  The questions regarding the piano are too tough for me to pass, but the rest of the game is very nice.  If it is necessary to pass that part, does anyone have a  saved game right after doing that?

Well, Life in a Box is certainly an interesting game....err experience, just like you said!  I dig the music.

to get past the waiter in Nepal, you need identification.  Perhaps one of the teachers at the college could assist you?

That is a nice list Primus, I've probably played half of those so far and agree with all of them being great examples of AGS games.  Heh, I am seriously become addicted to the games from this site!

Hello Primus!

Thank you for responding.  The things you mentioned in the spoiler I have found.  I just wasn't sure if the demo left the game at that stage or if I was just daft regarding a solution or two to move the demo forward.  It's too bad the game was only a demo as it showed promise!

Hello,

I am curious to know how far this demo goes.  I'm pretty stuck, and am hoping others have given this game a try.  I really haven't been able to do anything other than wander around the house.

Thanks again Jane for your help.  ;)  That was just what I needed to move forward and finish the game.  I can't believe I missed that before.   ???
