there's still a rivalry between the US and Russia?

during the time when USA was all bombing Iraq, I talked with some random russian guy via ICQ and he told me russians think america gonna get them next...

Just because he is doing something for free doesnt mean he can toy around with us like that. next day, he'll fake a virus or something, not that it will change soem of your's opinions...

I could come here complaining because I didn't get the joke! But when I download v2.6 I'm sure gonna spend christmas day again.......

too bad nobody understands that its wrong to deny people the right to use a product and label it as a joke. i'd label it as a mean product or something or a defected product...

yes. you cant force people to not use something on one day and think its a funny joke.
its a practical jokes if anything, and they're not so funny.

Actually, I found the joke pretty funny (and I don't even celebrate Christmas today).

the joke was funny and while it can be found offensive in some ways, its not what im talking about.
if all it did was showing that 'joke' and when you press ok it lets you into the editor itself, then it was ok and i wouldnt say a word or say "ha! that's funny" or something.
also minimi - not everyone celebrates christmas.
also while only a litlle people dont know how to change the date, only a limited portion of them would think or care about changing it (take the post in the tech board for example)

i really dont know why im bothering here, you dont listen to anyone but yourselves.
and im sure there are enough people who agree with me they are just either left already, dont feel like creating an account and posting or care to much about their image to post.

also i do hope im talking here with highschool/college people and not adults. (not that high/college people cant be adults but they're allowed to be non-adults too)

dont you think that forcing people not to use a program at a certain day is crossing the limits of good taste let alone the limits of a good joke?! (and as i said. workaround which aren't conventional (and this workaround ISNT conventional (common sense)) is like cheating. so if you're using this program on 25/12 its against what pumaman wanted with his 'joke'. dont judge a joke by its workaround.
and without the 'workaround' it does cross many many limits of good taste

So first, several versions ago, pumaman puts a joke option called make my game with joke options and when you press ok the program 'laughes' at you for choosing those options.
this has offended at least one person (who posted a complaint about this not so long ago)
ok.. so it was a small joke which really wasnt that big and offensive.. ok...

but now, CJ  puts another 'joke'. the 'joke' is that when you try to open the program on 25/12 it gives a dumb message (which some find amusign and funny, but that's not the point) and closes the program. hence : ags disables itself. i dont know if pumaman just put it only on this year and he is gonna remove this from next versions for good, it does not matter.
oh and the 'change the date' thing : an average user can't figure it out.
i guess the joke could still be called mildly annoying if it just put the message and let the program continue starting. but it doesnt.
How would you feel if your operating system just chose some random day in the year on which it would not start?! well that's exactly the same thing. I bet some people are gonna leave AGS because of this (they wont post or anything, but they'll leave).
i think pumaman gone a bit too far this time. waaaay too far.
and yes, i understand this is a free service and bla bla bla so im NOT complaining, im advising pumaman to limit his jokes to silly unworking options or even although the regular boardies will stay, many others will leave.

couldnt you have all operation go from left-to-right unless something is defined (like _RIGHTTOLEFT or something) and have it automatically added into the script header in a game converted from an earlier version with a comment saying what it does?

i just hope this little game wont turn into something bigger. i do want to make an ags game at some point. and i want this community to still exist by then.

hmph.. maybe this is a problem on my side, it seems to be pretty random : soemtimes it crushes sometimes no. now it doesn't... bah..

pumaman - as i already said, i didnt get no error message - i just entered the game and it imidiatlly crushed without even putting up a black screen.

it just happened again... it happens only some of the time...
but it happens ONLY with new versions it seems... and it happens only with AGS.

i found a bug that is UBER-minor but it bugs me and i'd like to see it fixed... it wont take more than 1 minute to fix!

when you scroll through the different menus (character, inventory, rooms....) with the arrow keys, and you get to the GUI option, the screen focus goes from the menu to the option list thingie! it's really annoying cause im a keyboard guy... sorry for incovinience

WHAT IN THE SEVEN NAMES OF HELL? it works now! and i DID restarted my computer several times! and it DID crash time after another.... BAH! well at least it works...
