Raping a baby and downloading a rom is different.  And it depends on the bridge as some people like to swim.

I've heard some horror stories in the press that beg to differ. It all starts innocently enough, stealing a few old ROMs never hurt anyone right? Then it progresses onto mp3s and movies, then bigger crimes, then next thing you know BAM! you're raping babies.

Yeah well in some countries you can get away with raping babies, does that make it right does it? If everyone else was jumping off a bridge would you do it too?

I doubt that the FBI really care about someone downloading a 20 year old ROM of Mario Bros.
My point is -
looking at porno on the internet: not illegal
downloading a 20 year old ROM of Mario Bros: technically illegal.
downloading Mario Bros porn: fun for the whole family. "Luigi! It'sa time to'a clean your pipes!"

I took it upon myself to visit that website and it was all bog-standard 100% legal (even in the USA) internet pornography. The FBI might bust down your doors for downloading illegal ROMs but I doubt they care about your porno pop-ups.

You might be better off asking about this at a forum like http://homerecording.com/bbs/

Well if the device you're using to record with sounds bad then there is no magic solution that's going to suddenly make it sound like a professional CD. You could whack compression and EQ all over it but 9/10 you'll probably end up making it sound worse. Only real solution is to use better equipment and make a better recording to begin with. Just being honest, I've wasted plenty of time trying to polish turds - it's not worth it.

Wow that sounds awesome! Just imagine how much money you could make if you invested a few thousand into it!!  ;D

It may seem like a ridiculously simple idea, but have you checked that the cable into the HD is plugged in firmly?

General Discussion / Re: What's in a name?

I think the real question should be: are you good enough to wear a name as unmeasurably awesome as Mystery Machine?

It seems the main side effect of playing too many video games is an increased level of gullibility...

There's some pretty advanced music generation software out there already.

For instant cheesy little ditties try Band-In-A-Box: http://www.pgmusic.com/bandbox.htm
I used it to write the basic tunes here: http://www.triplejunearthed.com/Artists/View.aspx?artistid=1263

"Ambient" music, Koan Pro is very good: http://www.sseyo.com/products/koanpro/index.html

I still don't think these are replacements for composers though, and there's plenty of them around on the forums looking for work.

I love people who are terrified of downloading self-extracting exe files, but have no problem downloading the same content in an archive and then running the exe file for the program after.

I don't know if he's just being controversial for publicity, after all his games are freeware. ButÃ,  I have my doubts since he doesn't seem like a neo nazi to me, and I know many. He could indeed be a poser.

MMmmmMmm, yeah, hope he's a real nazi and not some poseur. Aryan soldiers gotta keep it real, bro.

(PS.  I'm taking the piss.)

Quote from: skyfire1 on Thu 23/11/2006 01:40:06Not that I'm trying to be racist or anything but that just proves how far black people will go to get free money. They've always used racism as a trump card but now its going too far. What Michael Richards did is wrong but paying money for flying off the handle at some black people is just ridiculous.

Thank you Skyfire ... you couldn't possibly have proven my point better than that.

"how far black people will go to get free money"

Just to clarify, is this the offensive statement by Skyfire? It seems a naive and poorly considered thing to say, but I'm not quite ready to compare Skyfire1 with Kramer or Adolf Hitler over it. It's also amusing to see that some of you were actually agreeing with him at first...  :o

... swearing allegience to a console is like saying you're really into your Panasonic CD player.

You must never have had any run-ins with audiophiles.  ;D

I played it. I find it a bit confusing and I'm still not sure how to play it properly. The idea is very interesting to me, but I think it could benefit from better instructions.

If it was me I'd choose the money. On Christmas day I would donate the money to a charity and then spend the rest of the day doing volunteer work and singing carols. Why don't you do that?

It looks good to me. If you want help with music and sound send me a message and I'll see if I can do something.

Take the cash. You can't buy drugs and hookers with presents.

Hmm what if they don't manage to make all of them for some reason, will one get their money back?

I'd think so yes. If they don't make the rest of them and don't offer refunds I'm pretty sure that would be fraud. Even if they went bankrupt refunds should be made from the sale of their assets, etc. I guess there's a miniscule chance they're planning on taking our pre-order money and running away with it, but it's a gamble I'm willing to take.  ;D
