If the "point" of a Sam and Max game is the humour, then why bother with the game at all. The cartoons will give you the same experience, without the repetitive strain injury of clicking through the dialog.

I'm honestly glad they made the puzzles so easy. Getting stumped in adventure games, running around and trying random item combinations - it just isn't that much fun for me. It's 2006 and there are too many other games out there that offer instant gratification, my attention span isn't that long. I'm not interested in spending days figuring out some obscure puzzle anymore. I just want to get to the exploration, the interactive dialogs, the mini-games and the general "having fun" bits.

Only missing feature is a dialog skip button. Hardly missed it here though, much more so in Broken Sword AoD.

There is a "turbo mode" or something along those lines in the options that enables using the right mouse button to skip dialog.

I just bought the full season last night. At $35 that works out to less than $6 an episode, a huge improvement over Telltale's "Out From Boneville" which launched at $20 for just one episode.
Overall I thought the puzzles and dialogue were excellent. There is always plenty to look at and lots of dialogue options to try. The only complaint I really have would be a lack of locations. Other than your office and a few areas in the surrounding street there is only one other location you travel to. You spend 90% of the game being sent back and forth in the limited areas just outside your office. Hopefully future episodes will feature a few more interesting places to travel to in the DeSoto.
Anyway, it's Sam and Max, it's only $6 an episode, it's the best commercial adventure I've played in years. Everyone should just buy this already.

The problem with getmp3posmillis and seekmp3posmillis is that they are both very inaccurate. Using these two commands to try to switch between different arrangements does not produce anything like a subtle change in the music. It sounds like a total mess while switching music tracks this way, unfortunately.

It looks interesting. I'll have to try this sometime. But AGS can already crossfade music tracks, what does this do differently? Does it keep the tracks you are crossfading between in perfect sync somehow so that you could have two different arrangements of the music and seemlessly switch between them?

Hello... Somebody can tell me the cover of the "Hallelujah" song by Leonard Cohen heard in one episode of House (Season 2, I can' t recall the episode...) Is it by Jeff Buckley? Because I just can find a version recorded in a garage or something...

Thanks.

If it's the same version heard in Shrek then the cover is by John Cale.

Like I said, the CPU isn't at 100% usage constantly. It just happens sometimes.

If you close everything down and it isn't sitting at 0% then you should be suspicous. 15 - 25% would indicate theres a lot going on there.

Hey folks, if I wanted to upgrade my computer to run more plug-ins at a time in fruity loops so the CPU is less intensive, what's best RAM or CPU memory upgrade?

Depends on what you're doing.
For loading large samples and sample-based plugs: more RAM.
For virtual analog synths and most effects plugs: CPU.
Although if you're loading hundreds of different little plug-ins and if you already have a decent CPU then RAM could help more.

So...some say CPU. Some say RAM. That helps. :=

You've never explicitly stated why you need to upgrade so it makes it impossible to give a meaningful recommendation.

It sounds like your problems (CPU usage at 100%, ATI RADEON not working with any games) are software based, so upgrading CPU or RAM won't help much. Fix you Windows installation first (lots of good info in this thread already), then look at what software/games you find are under performing.

I hope nintendo continues making games forever. Their games are always the perfect level of difficulty and they kick ass. What's even better, Far Cry Wii will use the innovative controllers to give it a new "next-gen" gameplay style that we won't see on the other consoles.

Oh yeah, that'll be some real next generation gameplay. All right!

I totally agree with you, excellent post. I couldn't have said it better myself. :D

I'm sure there are adult men out there who love the Olson twins and would buy that game in a heartbeat. Creepy, creepy men though they may be.

Looked it up and it seems Sonar 3 didn't have any DC offset removal function. Although it's probably better to record on your friends computer if she has better stuff, still you might find this useful: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/dcoffset.htm
#35
If there is then you need to correct the DC offset. I know Sound Forge, Cool Edit and Goldwave have functions that can do this. Many other audio editors do also. I don't think there is a way to fix it at the source short of getting a better microphone/soundcard.
#36
My guess is a mismatch between your mic and soundcard might be causing a DC offset. Try recording silence. Does the waveform hover around 0 (the middle) or is it above or below by some amount? Most editing programs have a "DC offset" or "DC removal" function that might help.

Otherwise maybe you should post a couple of these files so we can see ourselves.

She looks like she's grimacing in pain. Then again, with that much chestiness I guess you would be.

But I can still play it like a normal keyboard can't I?  ???

The Photon controller produces no sounds, you will need to have it hooked up to a computer or another MIDI device when you want to play.

As Americans, we are made up of alot of non-Americans that come to live the 'American Dream'. What better way to make some quick cash... for the lawyers, of course. (Don't forget, there is a blurred line between lawyers and judges.)

Our government & legal system are corrupt, no questions in my mind.Ã,  :'(

Are you implying that frivolous lawsuits are being made in America by non-American immigrants who have come to your country in order to live the "American Dream" (i.e. sue people?)
