i remember when i was a kid and i got stuck on grim fandango (this was before i had internet). i was seriously stuck on the part in the forest, before rubacava, you know, when you've got to drive the truck over the electric lines to get the pumps moving simultaneously...anyway, it was driving me loco so i walked half a mile away to the nearest phone box (mom wouldn't let me use the house phone) and wasted £3 phoning the lucasarts helpline. unfortunately, the phone wasn't a touch tone one, so all my pocket money was wasted sticking coins in as i was kept waiting to be directed to talk to somebody else on the other line.

i ended up with all my pocket money gone and no nearer to escaping that damn forest.  :(

oh please, england are the best team in europe.

hell, we were the best team at euro 96, france 98, and wc 2002. it's just that certain things worked against us those times. penalty shoot outs, beckham getting sent off, and fluke goals by ugly brazilians.

that's justin king. brilliant guitar player who inspired me to learn to play myself.

it looks like you've settled on what your sprite is going to look like but i did a quick edit of one of my old sprites for you if you want to use itÃ,  for your game, or maybe as a template for sprites for a new game. if you want to use it i can do a walkcycle of him.

i'm not saying it's better than your own sprite or anything, mind, it's just good to get a grasp of drawing sprites in different styles and such, at least that's what i think.

take care and good luck with the game.

this was a nice opportunity to get away from the mundanity of my own project for a while, so i gave myself half an hour to draw something for your competition. this is the best i could come up with in that time. if the competition allows it, i'll complete it once i've got the time. if not, then just take that genetic freak as he is.Ã,  :P

thanks for the edit, darth. i've always had a problem doing shading in ms paint. i'll use your edit as a rough guide if that's okay with you.

it's quite nice looking at my first sprite and then these, as i think i've progressed quite quickly in 2 days. i mean, in regards to making technically good drawings. pixel shading and anti-aliasing, are something i have to seriously work on.

apart from shading and aa, is there any criticisms of the above two characters you can all offer me?

anyways, i'll keep you all updating on my progression, and hopefully i'll have a background finished for you soon.

are you sure you drew that first one as an original, or is it an edit? it's just that i remember playing a game ages ago which had a background which seems very familiar to that. either way it doesn't look bad, but the backgrounds are so different in style it's not funny.

this is a character i drew yesterday. i put all his different versions together in one picture so you could see how i progressed on him. any tips on improving it? the final sprite on the far right is one i was happy with last night, but looking at again this morning it just doesn't seem as good as it could be.

don't sugarcoat any criticisms either, rip it apart if need be.

operation: dairy farmer, is launched immediately, and a secret agent (identity unknown) is sent deep into nazi hq to liberate the prisoner, using nothing but his stealth and transvestite tendencies. he immediately comes across something which can be used to aid him in his mission...

I remember when Sisqo's 'Thong Song' came out. Everyday in Summer, the same house in my street played that song NON-STOP.

Awful game which isn't a patch on the first two.

Not to mention the infuriating bug outside the castle in Prague which puts you in an eternal loop of being shot, restarting in that exact position again, and being shot straight away before you can even do anything.

The Rumpus Room / Re:I LOVE MARK LOVEGROVE

I assume he Hit The Road when he saw the size of the Shadows on her Templars. Though rumour has it this was after she pulled his pants down and saw Knuttin Atoll, to which he retorted with an accusation of her Booty being Phatt and Scabb-ridden. Unsuprisingly, this caused a Melee in which Blood was drawn, no thanks to a troublesome Monkey. He may have been a Dinky little thing, but he sure did pack a Big Whoop! Hopefully, Gilbert (who's a Goodmate of mine) reminded you to lubricate your Shinetop so it doesn't Fester, because you don't want Phungoria growing on your Mushroom, I can tell you. It really restricts your ability to put it Deep in the Heart of the Carribean.

Okay, I'm all out of ideas. Thank you and goodnight!

And here I was armed with brilliant innuendoes about necrophilia and Cruise for a Corpse and a question about whether you've wondered what it's like In Diana Jones.

Tony Blair and London's Police Chief believe a suicide attack in the UK is inevitable, and Britain is on it's highest ever state of alert.
