I would say the contrast is a tiny bit over the top. The highlights shoudn't be that white and the shaded areas should be bit more visible. Otherwise I like it, very atmospheric. How did you make it?

General Discussion / What is a game?
Sun 08/07/2007 17:49:02
My personal definition:

Game - an activity that is both fun and challenging.

Fun means that it makes me want to continue doing it.
Challenging means that it tests my skills or abilities.
No more attributes are required for the activity to be a game.
If you take away either of those attributes the activity stops being a game.

So, what do you call a game?

The marble on the bank and the cracks on the bunkhouse are rather hard to see. Make them a bit stronger.
I'd also suggest adding some clouds, filling the horizon with some distant landscape and adding a street in the foreground. And just a minor thing about the big poster: I would move the text to the top or between the head and the people. The citizens are supposed to look UP to El Presidente, aren't they?

Relax and take this all as a joke  ;)

You know what I found funny? I just checked your profile and found out that you're twice as old as I thought(at least you claim to be).

But it's the thought that counts. You think a fat kid feels good when someone calls him fat, or by any of the other abundant fat terms? Oh yeah, it's just a word though right?

Has that kid got a name? Can I talk with him?

Is that so ?  Take this joke

What's up whores ?

A bitch is a female dog. A whore is a woman who sells her body. Calling someone a bitch isn't quite the same as calling someone a whore. But neither offends me tbh. Words only hurt if you let them hurt you unlike physical damage. It's just sounds coming from someones mouth or letters on a screen. People should pay more attention to actions rather than words.

What about the voting deadline? Chicky already suggested a time but since you are the host of this competition I guess you should have the last word on that.

General Discussion / Re: Game Development Team
Mon 02/07/2007 01:50:03
It seems like you want to create a team for the sake of having a team you can "organize" and everything else like the actual game and it's quality are of lower priority. I don't really get the point. You just picked a name and you're basically saying "hey i'm looking for people who will make everything and I will be the boss". No project to show us and no qualifications required to join your team except "eager to work as a team regardless of their talents". Not really encouraging to be honest.

I am sorry to break your fantastic dream, but only thing that I see coming is walls of concrete and box architecture.

I developed this obsessive need to save because of many accidents where my computer crashed and I lost everything, so I guess that's not so bad.
Quote from: TheJBurger on Thu 28/06/2007 22:18:03
It must have something to do with the few times I forgot to save my files and then my computer accidently crashed or something, causing me to lose hours of work. Since then, I press "Ctrl + S" constantly, even when I didn't really do anything to the picture.

Exactly the same here. Let me guess: you both used windows 95/98 for a long time?  ;D

I also do that reload thing, but I'm not so obsessive about it.

Someone compared it to inserting a new cartridge in a pen after writing one sentence.
#419
No OCD, but a little obsession of mine is to press keys even though I don't have to. For example when I work on a document or picture I constantly press "ctrl + s" even when I made no changes. That's also the first thing I do after opening an existing document. Also when I play FEAR combat(or any other fps) I keep pressing "r"(reload) and "f"(use medikit) even though my clip is full and health is 100%(or I have no medikit). That's kind of like blinking.

EDIT: stupid txt-style spelling check. When I write "r" I mean "r". -_-

It's another example of a situation where money is a factor while it should not be.  ¬¬
Too confusing?
