I've just checked the download and it seems to work fine. I've only found that you can't leave the east end of the trench before speaking to Barnes which is intentional.
Why?

You do need to speak to Barnes to find out what happened to your friend and progress the story. Most players will do that automatically anyway. But if they don't there is no reason they shouldn't be able to wander around freely looking for their friend themselves (and failing to find him) or trying to find other things to do. Locking the player into the room instead creates two unnecessary problems.

1. It breaks immersion, because there is no in-game reason you shouldn't be able to walk back down the trench.
2. It creates an extra risk of a game-breaking bug. More than one person has had trouble going back (I have the same problem horusr has struck-through. I can't go back if I follow my friend at the start). With so many people experiencing that issue, I can only assume that there is a problem with that (to my mind, unnecessary) blocking of the exit not clearing all the time.

I like the setting (the grim realities of a front-line soldier is a good subject) and, the criticism above notwithstanding, it is a lot better than many first attempts I've seen.

The demo played well too. :-D

I think I'm near the end
Spoiler
I have become human, but the demon robot at the door keeps killing me. Nothing I click on seems to work. Based on Robo-Angel's clue, I should be able to douse ir in water. But the wheel near the door doesn't do anything, even when it appears to be standing under the pipe

Don't know if this Brewery is well known outside the UK.

The A-Z list allows you to sort by date added.  Hopefully CJ will find the time to add other search options at some point though.
Great, thanks for letting me know.

One issue though: maybe it's just me being blind and stupid, but is there a way to show the most recently added games? I like to download and test every newly released AGS game, but with the current setup of the games DB I don't really see a way to do that?

EDIT: Nevermind! Looks like new games are added to the end of the uncategorised list, as long as there are no votings yet. Still, would be great to also allow filtering or sorting games based on their release date.
To follow up on this, is there really no other way of seeing the most recently uploaded games? It sounds like if a game gets voted on before I see it then it will get lost in the general game list. In fact, if I set a search for only uncategorised games, it is coming up blank at the moment. Does this mean there are no recent uploads or not? It would be good if the browser options had a choice to search by release date to deal with this.

Given I write a monthly article over on Adventure Gamers about new releases in freeware, this is a major issue for me.

Managed to get the main doors open but can't find anything else to do. What am I missing?

Good stuff. A simple tale told most elegantly. I especially loved the way every character thought another character would know what the machine on the bridge was for.  ;D

Up against some tough sci-fi competition in the January freeware releases mind.

That figures. Going by the datestamp on my download I got the still bugged version just before you replaced it. (Just before you took the link offline even)  ::)

I was having fun trailing around as just a head though. You should make that a deliberate feature of a future title.  ;D

Will re-download a try again.

I gave you headline position in the June Following Freeware as well.

stepurhan -

A friend of mine told me about a web site called http://AdventureGamers.com last Friday.  Yesterday I had some free time and checked it out.  I was shocked to find I was already there.   It brings whole new meaning to the phrase - "getting ahead of yourself."  Also, they've done a better job of describing the game than I ever did!

I just checked my webstats - I've now cleared 2100 downloads!  Pretty good if I do say so myself.

EDIT: I just re-read your posting and realized you were the one who posted 9H2D on Adventure Gamers!  Thanks for the gorgeous write up.  8)
I can write the descriptions to your future games for a reasonable fee if you like.  ;D

< Guess the tag over there isn't as obvious ss it should be.  ::)

Good game. Hopefully this will help it reach a wider audience.

Picked it up from your link here. Your link in the database is returning a 404 error. Looks like it is missing the /games subfolder having compared it to the link above.

Without a clue is arguably a spoof of Sherlock Holmes, except Watson is the real brains and Holmes is a drunken idiot he hired to front for him.

so many people are looking for an extension to the deadline.  ;D

Whatever the final deadline, I look forward to what promises to be an interesting selection this month.

Obviously having some sort of brain blank. How do I get the sword to defeat the monster? Nothing I'm trying seems to work.

I think I caught one of the earlier bugged versions. As the file link wasn't working when I went  to check for updates and I was already behind deadline, I had to leave this off the March FF roundup. Now both are fixed I'll look at it for the April one. I liked the look at the start and the general feedback here is a good sign.
