LIES! LIES! LIES!

No one else is posting anything! No one!! NO ONE!!!

:=

I had every intention of entering but everything I wrote was awful! AWFUL! (I couldn't bring myself to use double exclamation marks)

Great idea, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this one.

So I guess I'll kick off the voting buy placing my pebble in Dualname's urn

I'm surprised how pragmatic you're all being.  It was rubbish. R-U-B-ish (in my opinion)

The next Stediddy game was going to be "3D" as in it was going to be made out of cardboards and the like but I only ever got as far as making Stediddy himself...

I know, I know - the whole thing was a just bit of a failure.

Dualnames - that's some damn good work, you really manage to keep the unique style of the opening going though out.

I thought I may as well join in, though unfortunately no pictures survive from before I shuffled off this mortal coil...

One of my bands was called Chesney Christ And The Negative Nancies and I've always liked the idea of the name Billy And The Boggle Bags after an adventure game I got from the Library when I was a kid

I'd love it if this was to come out - Silent Hill 2 is a game that will always make my top ten and I've got a soft spot for the good old, brick-like Gameboy.

It was a rainy
night when Jeffrey was
driving on a forsaken

forest road. The car
radio was playing his
favorite song he

was singing loudly
along. He was not
concentrating on the road

too much, and notice
a large fallen tree too late
to stop. He pulled the

steering wheel and set out a
course through the forest,
not much later

loosing his consciousness.  When
he opened his eyes
slowly regaining

his strength he tested
his car, but it wouldn't start.
He stepped out of the

vehicle and looked
around. The trees were
dimly lit by the moon alone.

He had no idea where
he was. The roadway
had gone and he was

surrounded by a
pride of lions and
the whole cast of the O.C.

Scrabbling in the dirt
Jeff tried to find the picture
of his now long dead

mother in the hope that she
would make things alright
but she was lost for

words. Horrified young
Jeff let out a tiny gasp
and dove back into

his car smacking his head on
the oak dashboard: His
vision blurred, his throat

seized up, pills falling from his
mouth, blood running from
his ears.  The lions

turned their back on him
and Mischa Barton raised her
gun, placing it to

Jeff's temple and with a sigh
she finally found
her satisfaction.

N.B         I had no idea what to do with this, so I thought what'd be quick and fun to do?  Why not Dadaist haiku (???); the opening seemed to lend itself to the idea with its odd pace and phrasing.  And while this started out as fun and quick it soon turned into a right pain as I failed to make things fit.  I have to admit I cheated twice with the original text and I've found at least one place where the structure (the whole reason for doing the damn thing) kind of stutters.  But balls - its 1am, I have work in the morning and I'm done. (and I know I could come back to it but I know I wouldn't so best get it over with)

Sorry, this is my bad - I didn't think to check back here. :-\  But yes, I'd go along with Aljoho in saying that (if they want to) Wyz can set the next comp.

Again appy-polly-logies.

So it's a win for alex - the crappy trophy and the honor of thinking of the next comp are yours.
#34
Cheers for sharing Trihan - witty and geekey-as-ten, just what we like
#35
A two horse race this time and I think my vote is going to go to alex.

An enjoyable entry there alex.  And just the tempt anyone else thinking of entering, here's the trophy that's up for grabs
#37
I know its not a valid entry but I just thought I'd share with you my recent brush with undeath...

For this fortnight's comp I want you to take four fictional characters, from any mediums you want  - for example Ken Masters, Bruce Wayne, Tom Sawyer and Peter Griffin (though they don't have to be that disparate) - and then put them in the same place at the same time.  And then during the course of the story I want you to kill three of them.

There is no word limit but I’m looking for characters to retain their original personality and back-story as much as possible, though you can change their era and location if required.  You get to decide exactly when, where and why these people are together and you can populate the story with as many characters of your own as you like.

The piece can take any form you want, from a murder mystery to a bedtime story, a newspaper article to a police crime scene report, the idea is to just let your imagination run wild and to see in what new ways you can present established and familiar characters.

Voting will start on the 20th for two day.  Enjoy!

QuoteI think the topic was pretty cool.

I would have joined the challenge, if I were not working on something bigger, right now.

Me too, I already made up some scenes of "the castle" by Franz Kafka but couldn´t think of a not-frustrating way to make a game out of it. I don´t know if anyone would play a kafkaesque game where you are doomed to lose from the start.

bush_monkey gets my vote as I think the almost pulp style used sets a tone that suits the picture really well
