The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 CupNot serious entertainment
2 CupsA reasonable game, worth a try
3 CupsA good game, worth playing
4 CupsA great game, well worth your time
5 CupsAn outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been under-rated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Winner of Mags Feb' 2010

There is an on-going blood feud between the humans and the abominations.
You play as Eldritch, a young abomination, who is chosen by the 'High One' to infiltrate
the human camp, and fetch what the legend describes as their sacred item which is also the source to their power:
The Holy Chunky Salsa!

In your quest, according to the legend, you will have to overcome three obstacles:
The mighty guard, The angry farmers and the Test Of the Beards Of Different Sizes.

AGS Panel Review

"A fun little MAGS game with interesting and innovative puzzle solutions, The Quest For The Holy Salsa would've benefited from a slightly improved interface and more consistent graphics."

3 people commented on this game (newest first):

Really nice MAGS game; it made me laugh! I got stuck a few times, but the solution was blindingly obvious once I figured it out. The raise tentacle/jump modes are really clever.

There are a few issues, mostly with hotspot size (it can sometimes be difficult to figure out exactly where to click). However, these are minor enough not to be much of a problem.

Overall, it is quite fun to play (but short).

Nice short game, and not about humans (at least they're not the main characters), but on the part of - very cute - abomination. But the logic of puzzles, still, remains 'human' and not 'abominable'.
Also, good innovative mechanics with tentacle using and jumping, which merge into gameplay very well.

The game is funny and interesting. It has some new things like the interaction using tentacles and the hability to jump. It is a nice and short game, i recommend it to everyone!
