The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

AGS Panel Review

"Faithful recreation of the original board game, but a little underwhelming in presentation. Player feedback is slightly lacking."

4 people commented on this game (newest first):

Ahh! Master Mind...great adaptation of a classic board game.

I used to love this game when I was a kid - It's Mastermind - The screenshot is a good representation of what this game is about. There are 4 balls, and you have to guess the colour of each one. If you pick the right colour ball and guess which ball it is, you get a black dot on the left hand side. If you pick the right colour ball but don't guess which ball has that colour, then you get a white dot. Well it quickly makes sense when you start playing.

Anyways this is a very nice version of the game, with a large array of settings to make things more/less challenging for yourself.

I did find some of the options buttons rather confusing, and I couldn't figure out how to reset the game when I got game over, but these were things that could be worked around.

I played the enhanced version that has many things covered from ghost's comment.
The game stays true to the original but offers a large range of options to change difficulty and gameplay. There are even profiles and a highscore list now. The graphics and menu look very professional. The only thing I miss are tooltips on the GUI buttons.
Reccomended for a quick mental challange or a whole evening of puzzle addiction.

It's MasterMind, the classic, and the recreation is pretty faithful and even allows you to set your own difficulty. I'd love to see this game get some extra polish (the graphics are functional but could be improved, and some extra features like score tracking would be awesome), but as it is right now it's a good alternative to digging up the original game box!
