The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Lord and Lady Featherstone are thrilled when they inherit Grantley Mansion from a widely travelled, recently deceased, Uncle.
The building has stood empty and neglected for years, but they are confident that it can be restored to its former glory.
Deeds signed, key in hand, they take possession only to discover, to their horror, that the mansion is already possessed by a legion of unearthly squatters.
Remembering an advertisement he has seen in the local newspaper Lord Featherstone enlists the services of Dan a renowned, but unconventional, Decorator to rid the place of these uninvited guests by performing a Decorcism.

I wanted to edit the comments I made about the game, a few days ago, but inadvertently removed my complete posting. So here goes, again. The Decorcist is a very enjoyable game that will appeal to all ages. The graphics are pleasing to the eye and the dialogue amusing. There is a puzzle element to the game, a couple of secret hiding places from the monsters and ghosties etc., and a trophy you can earn, which elevates this offering above the normal Platform/Adventure. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

I know I have commented on this game before but I am surprised it has not received more recognition. It is a very entertaining and well executed game. Graphics are excellent and dialogue is top notch and amusing. There is puzzle solving involved as well as a platform element. Give it a go you wont be disappointed.

Good job RetroJay, I had a fun time with this. It was nice to play something different and this hit the spot. We'll done.

Love the graphics, gameplay and general feel of the game. For people not as brilliant as me. ;)
(Not wanting to blow my own trumpet) I thought the implementation of an easy mode was a clever
idea.
