The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 CupNot serious entertainment
2 CupsA reasonable game, worth a try
3 CupsA good game, worth playing
4 CupsA great game, well worth your time
5 CupsAn outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been under-rated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

While conducting archaeological recovery in an unknown star system of the Eureka Cluster, the crew of the FSV Thrift is abducted by some form of purple energy alien.

Only one man, Jeff Tobel, is left behind, and must find a way to save his crew-mates after being stuck aboard a disabled ship which he doesn’t even have full clearance to use.

This is my first game, but hopefully not my last. It started out as a 3-week game jam-type exercise, but here we are a little more than a year later.

Resolution: 800 x 600

I'd love to hear what you think about it.

I am a little late with the comment on this, but not late to the game itself,

This game and the person behind it was one of main factors that inspired me to take a more direct interest in point and click development.

If this game is anything to go on, then whatever comes out of the mind of the developer next is bound to be a stomper.

Congrats on the release of this anyway, keep up the good work Jack.

The animations were effective and the graphics were good. Yet, the strong point of this game is undoubtedly its funny dialogs.

I wish there were specific answers when you try to combine objects or to use them on hotspots, instead of randomized lines.

The puzzles are logical and fair, despite some occasional dubious design (using an object on itself, disassembling two objects before one can be used again...).

All in all, an enjoyable experience.

A shortish funny game especially if you enjoy Space Quest/Hitchhiker's Guide kind of humour!

I enjoyed this game a lot!

Great job, JackLucy! I've just completed a little "Let's Play" of Tales From The Eureka Cluster: The Abtyon Case and will be throwing it up on Youtube shortly.

Nice visuals for something that came out of a game jam, very raunchily hilarious writing. Wife and I had a great time. I tell you, phallic spacecraft jokes beat Barry White for mood-setting, hands down, every time.

Cool job guys.
