The nearest train station is Taffs Well, you can walk to Brittens from there.
You can also take a bus from Cardiff which stops just over the road from the house, but you'd have to make sure you know where to get off...

AGA

Yeah. Trains from Londonward stop at Cardiff Central, from where you can get a bus to right outside my house, or a train to the other end of the village (maybe half a mile).

Chicky

Hi Aga,

I heard you were trying to get hold of me. It seems my mobile's dead at the moment as i havn't had signal for two days or so. But i will be coming indeed, for me it's a matter of braving the drive down on the motorway or spending the money on trains.

Is anyone going via trans from somerset area to cardiff? I'll probally be going Bath Spa - Bristol - Cardiff Central if anyone wants to meet up on the way.

Not certain when i'll be leaving mind, but i'll be there from the first day. I shall bring biscuits!

AGA

Jake is coming from Brizzle, but on the 17th. Dunno if anyone's arriving from that direction on the 15th.

What about directions for car? Is one of you able to post a road map of how to get to yours from the M4?

The map SSH posted is correct, but it is a bit confusing the first time you go there.

Basically:
1. Leave the M4 at J32 and then go for the A470 North (which is about the 5th exit from the huge roundabout there).
2. Join the A470 and then leave it again at the first exit.
3. At the roundabout there, you have to go straight over as if you were joining the road again, but actually it's a wierd junction and the road dips and then comes back up into Taff's Well.
4. AGA's house is about a mile from there, on the left behind a bus stop and shortly before a speed camera.

Right, it looks like I can quite easily stop off at Bristol Temple Meads station on my way, so LimpingFish if you can get a bus from the airport to Bristol Station (which I imagine should be quite easy and regular) then I can give you a lift no problem.

What time does your flight land?

Sit around, drink beer, discuss stuff, visit the local attractions and indulge in the occasional orgy.

Yay! Thank you :D! My flight gets in at 4.05pm, barring any delays, so I should get to the station by about 5pm?

If I make it...

I got a call from the Passport People (tm) this morning, telling me I'd have to replace the photo on my passport as the digital picture "fingerprint" thingie couldn't get a good reading off of it. Then they told me that they couldn't guarantee I'd have my new passport in time, but that they'd "try". >:(

This calls for maximum levels of flipper crossage, methinks...

Thanks SSH. I was hoping for a road map err, of coloured roads, rather than a Google map which I find impossible to follow. Should I go, I'll try to follow CJ's directions. Ta!

New date 'n times for me.

Yickle now arrives at: Cardiff Central for 6pm Saturday 15th.  Chances are that I'll miss most of you by an hour, so I'll catch the bus (I'll ring AGA when I get to Cardiff and ask which bus(es) to get.

Yickle now departs at: 12:50pm Wednesday 19th from Cardiff Central.

Thats right Dave & Custard, I'll be seeing you both!

Regards,

Yickle.
Woof woof.

Neat, good new times :D

AGA has a travel guide up somewhere saying which bus to get.

That's ridiculous, these new fangled biometric passports are a pain in the ass. Do you even need a passport to go from Ireland -> UK?
Let us know what happens.

If it helps, here's an Autoroute map which might be slightly clearer:

LimpingFish

Technically, you don't need a passport, just a valid form of photo ID.

W-Which I...um...don't have either. :-\

I'm flying Ryanair anyway, and they'll only except a passport or a drivers license.

If I manage to get this passport through, it will literally be the eleventh hour when it gets to me.

XHTML version random, any chance of a HTML verison? And a sofa? .^^

scotch

I tried to make a working html version for IE, but it didn't work. I guess the autogenerated xhtml in it is too much for IE to take.

m0ds

It's all good, AGA's list seems to make perfect sense.

I'll sleep wherever there's a space, my car included.

CJ's car included.
