After this April OROM, there will be a MAGS on May running along parallel with the voting on the April's entries. Due to the lack of votes the last time, unfortunately I have around 14 days to come up with a cool theme.

I'm thinking something loose and about the End of the World. But please post your ideas.
Please read all the themes and vote only once. Voting link down the page.

POLL
Themes to choose from:(in order of appearance)

1.Leon:

"No limits".

No theme at all. Just see what you can do within a month without limitations...

2.Ascovel:
Title: B-serious

"B-serious"

2 requirements:

- over the top, violent B movie type of story in an established pulp genre (horror, biker film, martial arts, chambara, spaghetti western etc.)

- the game needs to take itself completely seriously - no intentional humor allowed

3.ProgZmax:
Title: Complete your game (Title not a courtesy of ProgZ)
Quote from: ProgZmax on Fri 16/04/2010 03:07:35
How about a mags that encourages anyone with unfinished games from any era to complete them in a month (at least enough to be playable)?  This may attract the interest of people like me who have several 25-75% finished full length games that for whatever reason we've abandoned.  This way everyone wins even if there has to be a courtesy 'win'.

I believe chicky also mentioned extensive interest in such an event, and if mags does not do it I may host a separate event to get some of the older games that fell off the map back on.

4.Dualnames:
Title: Demakes!

Okay just an idea, someone might just like it.

What about demakes?

You know, no-limit, no nothing to stop you, no genre restriction as long as it's AGS and a demake(and apparently no team size limit to this one).
What's a demake?

Help newbie to make a game of his dreams!

Find an AGS newbie with cool game idea. Every participant makes a game based on newbie's scenario, regardless of how silly it is.  ;D

I'd kind of like to see a fan-fiction one actually. It's interesting to see how different talented authors handle stories and characters created by other talented authors; but most talented authors feel the need to create their own stuff so this would be a good excuse for those guys to try it out.

I know there's legal issues an' that but people wanting to avoid them could always chose a public domain property.

Questionable

"1985"

Essentially the concept would be to either create a game that could exist on the hardware available before 1990, and/or make a game with a time setting during any point in the 80s.
All my trophies have disappeared... FINALLY! I'm free!

Wonkyth

"Backwards"
The more backwards things with the game still being playable, the better.
"But with a ninja on your face, you live longer!"

Leon

"No limits".
No theme at all. Just see what you can do within a month without limitations...

Kweepa

Still waiting for Purity of the Surf II

Intense Degree

"Outside"

All action in the game must take place outdoors.

For a minute there I thought you were planning to design a sequel to Orwell's 1984.

On topic now: If there was voting, then I would vote for one of these:

Because, even though I probably wouldn't enter, I believe these would create interesting games.

tzachs

Since my previous idea for a MAGS was highly successful I believe I have a saying here...
I vote for B-Serious...

Radiant

I vote for anything with multiple playable characters. The character switch function is way underused in adventure games.

I'm definitely seriously thinking this will be a great idea. In fact we talked this over on IRC, but then I just had lightning on my head, and the idea of OROM was spawned. But definitely thumbs up ProgZ again.
