Sorry to continue the trend, but it looks like I will have to drop out as well. For some reason airfare is about 30% more than I am used to paying, and work is beginning to slow for the next 8-10 weeks so probably best to hang back and go again next year. I barely scraped by last year for various reasons and don't want to repeat that experience again.

I'm pretty upset about it, but will do my best to benefit from taking a year off and see you all again in 2014. Have fun and enjoy yourselves everyone! I look forward to hearing about it.

I've amended my flights, since I can't be bothered hanging around Berlin on my own for three days (originally Disco and I were going to go sightseeing).  My flights are now:

This is why I think we shouldn't be so strict about the maximum number of people early on. We could have confirmed everyone on the waiting list, and dealt with the slight overbooking closer to the event if it turned out to be a problem (which, in the event, it wouldn't have been). I'm sorry to see people were turned away or told they couldn't count on a space, when ultimately we could have fit them in.

Anyway, I'll be arriving at TXL at 14:10 on 10.8, pre-sunburned as I'm coming pretty much straight from Africa. Looking forward to it!

Yeah sorry I've been a bit wavy about it too, I also have kind of spent the money I would've used a few months back. But I'm waiting on a mid-July payment and that will determine for me if I can go or not (GOG.com, no idea, but the current number of votes on the game multiplied by sales divided by their share and Remi's could equal Mittens for me ). That'd be a fitting end to the last couple of years "AGS journey" for me so I'd still like to make it, and generally have issues booking Mittens' til two weeks before anyway.... :p

And he's (AGA) kept pretty quiet about it but don't forget you can now randomly donate to AGS which could form some collateral that could help cover costs for community activities like Mittens. After servers have been paid off and CJ has been sent a crate of alcohol free beers.

@Snarky: Yeah I suppose by now Jake pretty much hates me But anyway I would have a bad feeling taking people's money without a place to sleep in return. Who's job would it be to decide who sleeps in the house and who has to stay in a motel for the same price. Nah, no good with real money involved - besides there were(and still are) quite a few alternative accommodation options.

@mods: Ryanair pretends, that a flight from London-Stansted to Berlin Schönefeld is just 38,99 pounds. So I guess the "real" price is abound 80pounds, still pretty affordable.

Them £40 flights are fine Luckily ryanair prices stay the same.

I've actually decided to attend for the first time! The date marks my 10th year on the site almost perfectly, it's not too expensive and spots in the villa opened up, so I'll be there.

Can't wait to have a cold one with some of you amazing folks!
