Since I was talking with Arj0n about it: don't forget to bring something to show and tell! I hope we can connect a laptop to the TV, on the fotos it looks like a very old TV.
Also think about a small prize for the quiz :)
Question to all mitteneers: is there something arranged already as in a laptop for example to run a possible show 'n tell on?
(also keeping in mind that it's plausible that the villa's TV isn't from this era...)

Is there a quiz without having the original quizmaster around this year?  8-0 :-D

AGA

We could ask someone who (presumably) knows little about AGS to do the quiz.  Like violetnotpurple, or Tamara.  Or CJ (roll)  Less unfair on them taking part in something they have little chance of winning.

arj0n

Good point AGA :)

Now what's left is the hardware question for a possible show 'n tell...

tampie85

Hey, last year I had two more points than Arjon! 8-)
I won't mind volunteering to host the quiz.

arj0n

Heey, now everyone know I let you win from me last year...

:-D

AGA

If we need to I can bring my laptop, which has VGA and HDMI outs.  I don't have either cable though, so someone would have to bring those!  Of course not many TVs have VGA input, and apparently the TV is kinda old so may not have HDMI...  But since very few laptops have coax, SCART or component ports, we might not have many options!  My laptop's screen is 17", so could serve as a (albeit small) standalone screen if necessary.

Snarky

Damn, it's almost Mittens and I don't have anything to show OR tell and no cool prizes for the quiz!
I'll bring a selection of video cables/converters, though. No guarantees, but it might improve our chances. (I think I have a VGA-to-component converter, for example.)

I'd highly appreciate it if someone/anyone coming over from Scandinavia (ahem Esseb) would bring some Tyrkisk Pepper. If you pick me up a bag/can, I'll reimburse you. Got to feed that ammonium chloride addiction!

Esseb

Sure, I'll bring a couple of the big bags from the tax-free. One for you and one for the Mittens attendees.

I might have a component to SCART adapter.

Sweet! :sealed::tongue::cheesy:

arj0n

Before anyone is bringing all these kind of cables, adapters, etc for nothing: is there anyone who has something to show 'n tell at all?

Besides AGA showing his famous game-with-worldwar-alarm-sound, I might have something to show.

But:
If the case is going to be that no one else has something to show (and AGA decides not to show his game again), then I
might better not show anything at all so no one has to bring all that equipment stuff while it's not gonna be used at all...

Just thinking...

Andail

I always have plenty to show and tell, but not that much AGS-related this time around. Will bring a laptop either way because I'll have tons of spare time between flights in Brussels.

Is was wondering what nice spots in, or close to, Sintra are worth a visit and I stubled upon these two spots I'd really like to visit:

1.: Moors' Castle (Castelo dos Mouros) (castles / ruins)

2.: Quinta Da Regaleira (palaces and beautiful gardens)

Just out of curiosity: any more ideas?

Whoops, I thought it meant Amsterdam.
But look at it like this: if I'm coming from the Bahamas to Portugal that must mean that I have great hopes for Mittens, right? :)
I'll be arriving at 21:40 -

I know, bummer that it is so late, hopefully I'll be awake enough coming uot of the plane (and able to not fall asleep in the taxi)

Thinking about that again, wouldn't it be convenient if we had a street address to get to?

Also, how about everyone sharing their mobile phone numbers (incl. country code), so we can contact each other if we need to.

shall we do that on the forum (where every search engine can find it)?, or shall someone collate all the numbers and send the list to everyone?

Cassiebsg

Uhm... if you're in Amsterdam, why are you flying to Munchen to get to Lisbon?  8-0
Were all the direct flights fully booked? Or you just didn't like the prices of those? I often fly via Amsterdam when I'm going to Lisbon... ???

This flight was cheapest and offered the best times.
Where do you fly from?
