Didn't we sort of conclude that no one had any AGS stuff to show off anyway?

DutchMarco

Thank you Mark, as if ayone needed reminding of that! :~(  BTW, that would be a bit difficult to do, since I won't be driving the plane or train this year.

BTW, I asked he rental company, and they (Francis) said the closest station was called Sintra, it was also the end of the line. Couldn't be easier!

BTW2: Would everyone please remember to bring prizes for the pub quiz? I'll bring a few DVDs myself.

Arj0n and me might be showing some stuff. But a laptop might be enough, especially for my stuff. I'd like to get some feedback on improvements I made to my game from last year.

I was planning to show 2 ags things I'm working on.
Already made the game (a graphical mod of DKH's platformer with all new sprites and animations plus new levels) playable (one level), especially for mittens.

But if i can't show it after all or there's a lack of interest or supplies (as adapters) I might better leave it home though...

So my question is: who's bringing what to be able to show and tell something?
Who's bringing a laptop anyway? Do you think a show and tell will work on only a laptop? (as in a group watching it on a small laptop screen)

Esseb

We might be few enough that a laptop screen will work.

alright, if someone can confirm that he/she is bringing a laptop then I bring my stuff to show.
Cat, you're still in too I guess?
Andail, do I remember it correctly you said you had also some stuff to show?

cat

Yep, I'm in. But we don't have a laptop with a screen big enough for people to watch.

On another note: weather forecast says it's going to be 23°C in Sintra and 25°C in Lisbon which is perfect for sightseeing. However, don't forget to bring a sweater for when it gets chilly in the evening.

Nah, but like Esseb said, the group isn't that big this year... So it might work with only a laptop.
Still hope we're able to hook it up to a tv...

AGA

I'll bring my 17" screen laptop.

I thought I might bring some board/card games; Small World, Resistance and that weird plasticine game have been hits at past Mittenses. But since they can be kind of bulky I can only take one or two, so I thought I'd ask attendees if they have a preference between:

Dixit (picture card game, creativity and psychology involved, very good)
Dominion (fantasy strategy card game, also very good)
Ticket to Ride (railroad building game, also also very good)
Monopoly (you know... Monopoly)
Dune (complicated strategy war game, supposed to be good, but never actually played)
Resistance (card bluffing game, played last Mittens)
Evolution (creature-building card game, only played a couple of times, felt a bit unbalanced)

It'd be fun to have a chance to try out Dune; I've never been able to find people willing to spend a day on it.

I really liked resistance last year. Monopoly isn't really my favourite too, since it takes ages.
Therefore I think I won't like Dune too, but you never know. Dixit seems interesting.
Besides that I don't really have a preference.

Plus she lent me a totally up to date 2007/8 Lisbon city guide.

I have TripAdvisor City guides on my phone (same one I used for AdvX London sight seeing), which has an offline city guide of Lisbon.
It contains restaurants, hotels, attractions, suggested itineraries, nightlife, shopping and tours/tickets.
Might be a nice addition

But... but... what about the fun of trying to visit attractions that might not even exist anymore!

Hello from Lisbon!

I have made a small update to the sekrit document regarding the metro system.

Bring starblock if you have any tubes small enough to be brought on an airplane. We should have enough to go around for a while, but I believe we bought the only one in Lisbon that was less than 15-20 euros. From what I can tell, it isn't generally available in supermarkets...pharmacies only.

Oh of course! How could I forget about that?
Being up to date and digital is soooo 2013.
I'll bring my Nokia 3310!

arj0n

no, no, a Nokia 3310 is still to 'new' to have phun. Mr.B meant using a real adventurer device to find non-existing places, like THIS:

Now where's that 'turn on GPS' button....

AGA

Pff, kids these days.  I'm bringing my carrier pigeon.  His name is Speckled Jim.

arj0n

Noooo, they do their mix of nr1 & nr2 everywhere... (wrong)
