After I was done with OSD2 I wanted to get right to work on an online game again.

or

Made by Studio3.

Main
PMQ.Legends was a manga series that started 2005 - 2008. The game story is just one of the many stories the manga has to offer.
The game takes place with the protagonist Dave, His brother Christen, And his friends Tifa & Muffy.

A major quest has been registered at the pub. Many adventures has set out on the quest but none have been able to complete it. Dave and his friends try to take on this quest. They find them selves in a world of obstacles & engagements from time to time.

City & quests
The game has a city that will be model after Boston downtown. You may also see some familiars AGS faces there to. There will be a series of quest that can be obtained by speaking with certain people or with some objects that you find. All quest will be added to the quest board.

Assault engagements
Battles in this game is are like most classic RPG battles. The twist in these fights are that 2 people or less(1) can only fight at a time. Each fight shares the same HP. When playing you can only control one person however YOUR actions controls what the other party member will do. Sometimes the enemies attacks are based off what you do as well so pay close attention to your enemies attacks.

There is neat little feature called the avatar maker or PMQ.Avatar maker. It allows you to make your very own cute little avatar. with 10 categories to choose from you can make the most stylist or adventurous avatar ever.

Downloadable content

Music
Also Mr.Loney Childress will be composing this games music! :D

Moogle

You should include a open area for players to visit each other.  :P

I might but unless I figure out how to make a co-op game then I cant.

It would be nice though. :)

Post from Facebook-
PMQ News: Looks like the game will not feature online multi-player but will keep the online chat feature. However don't be sad. There is a new game that is coming soon called [PMQ. -Online-] It will have a beta that comes in a copy of PMQ.Legends.

But in order to play you will need a free beta key. Studio3 Home site

It will be to much of a pain to make a with a story meant for single player and having everyone jumping back and forth thus messing up scenes and other stuff and the game.

So after you beat PMQ.Legends you can go ahead and enter you beta pass and start playing with your friends! :)

When I reached the area with the monster, my mouse cursor disappeared. One of my other guys walked into the visible area of the location, then I got the hand cursor. I couldn't do anything.
Bringing up the menu did work but I couldn't click anything any longer. Had to Alt-X.

The characters are walking pretty slow.

And btw, DLC is impossible to do unless you only simulate it and put everything in the game from the start, which kinda isn't really what DLC is about, right?

Again, this is alpha, at best.

Didn't they do that in Dead Space and DS2?
I don't want the world, I just want your half

Most games do something like that. When you buy a new game you might get a code that unlocks it (Dead space games, Mass effect 2, Assassins Creed 2 etc), so that if you buy a used game, you have to buy the content, even though it's basically a part of the game.

Devious bastards!
Wrongthinker and anticitizen one. Utterly untrustworthy. Pending removal to memory hole.

DLC adds missions, characters, equipment, etc. to games, usually open-world games.

You can't have that with a traditional AGS game, you'd have to implement everything using external files. A game that reads its level data off of files can of course be extended that way, and in theory you could also offer costumes, characters and equipment (by reading sprites from the HD and putting them in a view via ViewFrame*).

So it is possible, just not with a game that uses AGS rooms in the traditional way. It doesn't take much to render a savegame invalid, so if the DLC contained a new .exe, there has to be a save game system that's based on manually created files.

Needless to say, all this is way beyond Icey's scripting abilities.

\\--EDIT--//
I gave the game another shot.
This time I could actually battle the fire monster; neither me nor the monster lost HP visibly, until suddenly the fight was over.
I ended back at the pub (with the battle cursor still active) where I can't interact with anything except the quest board. I can't even look at my team mates! And there's a fucking lens flare in the background!
I can look at the quest board again, it's the same quest as before. I completed it, but it doesn't disappear, and there's no new one either. At least this time my party members were following me.
When I got to the spot were the battle was, it tried to "commence" but there was no enemy.
I could still walk around, but there's no exit.

Edit: there's also a moogle, the help says you can buy things off of him, but you can't interact with him.
And mog.net still spelled "server" wrong in his signature and below his avatar.

Yeah, I bet he meant sewer  :=

Anyway, I'll give it a go too - my first icey game. Woo ;D

Icey

Ok thatLs a lot and I haven't had a chance to respond I'ma give it a shot now.

Before I do games that I say has DLC I totally think about how I may put them in there. The answer is yes the games will come have DLC.tmp's that are used in the PMQ.Online content in PMQ.Legends. This will take a lot of thinking to follow trough with it but I sorta think of at as a good thing.

P.S. Don't play the beta up top. Not only is old but it has a hell of a lot of flaws

Khris

The exe I played is from Jan 31st.
If there is a newer version, would you consider putting a download link here if you want beta testers instead of that beta key-facebook-linkage-member crap?

I sense the need for some pruning soon ... let's stay on target people.

Then perhaps you should remove that link and put an accurate link?

I havent played the game or anything, but I see it here in the forums all the time. Anyway, in Australia a 'Pub' is a bar. Where you go to have alcoholic drinks etc. It's short for 'public bar'.

So I'm wondering is Pub something else in japanese or whatever language this is? Serious question.

I guess playing the game would probably clear it up but the name doesn't make sense to me.

The name Pub means a public bar in the game.

In the game it is referred to as the Pub or the Local pub.

Master stands for the head person running the Pub.

Quest stands for the missions you can accept to take on.

Master quest stands for the big quest/ exam you must take in order to take over as Pub master.

Master quest is also referred to in PMQ.1 as the "Great Trails"

A modern reason why it is titled that is because you can get information for local pub's.

I crossed the link out and closed the beta testing.

I was recently playing Kingdom hearts Recoded. It had a mini game were players are able to create there on avatars and play in mini games.

So I thought of importing something just like this mini game in my PMQ,Legends

Wait, but Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded could do that because they used 3D models with interchangable textures and accessories, modelled just so, so that it wouldn't interfere with the animations.

You'd have to redraw every single animation if you wanted to implement this in your game, since it's 2D. I highly recommend dropping this straight away. It's way, way, way, way too much trouble for what it's worth (very little).

Just finish your dang game. Stuff like this comes a lot later in the game pipeline. Like, it gives the programmers something to do while the beta testing is being done and the artists are polishing up graphics. Before you can even think about frivolous stuff like this, the main core of the game has to be top notch. The battle system has to work, the story has to be tightened and trimmed, everything needs to be in order.

No minigames. No flashy effects, no online chat mode. I think we all just want you to finish the game before you drag this out for years with useless cruft. :P

Ever heard of Feature Creep? This is what's happening to your game. This is what you must avoid. If you don't keep it in check, your game will never be finished. Ever.

Icey

I get what you are saying however the game has been fixed up alot. The battle system is finish the only thing I need to do is map out the status item's like potions and stuff.

The Avatar maker is indeed a mini game. the game will have a set of list boxes that you can choose from for different stuff for your avatar. You can take pictures and post'em to the forums or what ever site. There is also a little handy feature that will allow you to have your avatar venture out a collect money while your not playing. All this stuff is half way done and I will finish it after the game is done.

Fonda

why do you mix up katakana and hirigana in the title? what does it mean? ba pu no me su ta - ku e su to
