This is clearly some kind of insidious plot to spark a successor to RON.

A really fun insidious plot...

Poor Jed. He tries so hard...

I noticed the camp had no cook so I had to make one quickly ;)
It is monsieur Pierre, wel actually his name is Steve, but he pretends to be from France. His favorite vegetable is spinach. He is mostly of the time not very happy because the guests don't like his food.

I'm not sure if I counted correctly, but I think we're up to 26 entries!

Might be a record...

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

Alright, this is a good place to ask everyone to stop submitting entries.  I need some time to go through and select a winner, so just be patient and keep an eye on this post!

Yes indeed, 26 entries, all at least semi-visible in the group picture, which I'm posting here, as well as its original location in the first page, just so people don't have to go wading through old posts to find it anymore.

Apologies to Electro for not including Norah into the image.

I'm not missing anyone, am I?

Again, I sure as hell don't envy you your job picking the winner, Progz.

Edit: Good eye, Ben. Added Sebastian.

I do not see Sebastian (drums) in there... or am I blind?

I think this competition turned out reaally great! Those are all good-looking and creative entries and the paritcipation rate was awesome. I had a lot of fun with this.

@SpacePirateCaine: Since it wasn't an entry that's okay - would be weird anyway next to all those CopyCats ;).

Alright, since everyone put so much effort into their work I've made a gift for everyone (this was planned way before Caine made a group image) as well as a very special gift for the winner, but first:

Warning:  This will be long.  You may skip to the end if you like cheating and eating small children.

Your objectives were to help populate Camp Copycat by reproducing the style of Mike Higgins as well as to adhere to the theme of a camp full of a ne'erdowell and unlucky children (and unlucky counselors, obviously!).  So how did everyone stack up?  Let's recap:

1.  Florence Darling arrived punctually at camp, having parents with an exceptional sense of timeliness.  Florence felt left out at first because of his bookiish nature (and girly name) but eventually found a friend in Mike Higgins, whose boyish antics intrigue the introverted Florence, now nicknamed 'Flo' by Mike and company.  He also soon discovers an archfoe in the form of equally brilliant-yet-distorted Johnny Halbert, who calls him a Crybaby Dumbfacehead.  Becomes an honorary 'fourth' member of Team Triple Trouble.

2.  Alek Faith.  Loner, boy without a cause.  He and Mike don't get on well because his personality seems really phony.  This is unfortunate since Alek has the potential to be a good kid, as seen in a special 3-part episode where he reveals to have lost a twin when he was young, making him feel conflicted.  Currently runs with Hermann Squarejaw and Jeff Farnsworth, calling themselves Team Jawsome.

3.  Admiring his clean-pressed suit in a mirror, Mr. Peabody wonders if he'll have to endure yet another summer with Team Triple Trouble:  Mike Higgins, Ernie Lincoln and Jimmy Bernstein.  What Mr. Peabody doesn't know is that Team Triple Trouble often save the camp from certain doom with the help of the rest of the gang.  If Peabody ever discovered how much he owes his job to Mike he'd lose the rest of the hair on his head!

4.  Wow, just what every camp needs, a sexy and somewhat-confused teenager.  Enter:  Krissy Wachowski, camp counselor and swim team coach!  New to Camp Copycat, she meets Mike Higgins for the first time after he and Ernie Bernstein save Florence Darling from drowning.  In spite of the obvious age gap, Florence is immediately smitten by Wachowski's charm and can only manage to mumble around her from then on.  Krissy's upbeat, carefree nature often gets her in trouble with Nurse Rubens, who thinks she lets the kids get away with murder.

5.  Dwayne Potts is a regular at Camp Copycat; so regular, in fact, that he's been dubbed 'Most likely to become a counselor' by Mr. Peabody 6 years in a row.  Dwayne is one of those kids that likes everyone, or at least doesn't hate anybody.  He's been friends with Mike since he first met him at camp three summers ago, and whenever Mike plans a prank, Dwayne is involved.

6.  The Malware Master is also new to camp this summer, and it took him an entire day to find his arch-enemy when Florence politely corrected a statement he made about Asimov's Robot Laws.  Johnny Halbert often wanders around the campground junkpile, collecting metal and rubbish to construct his next diabolical device.  He's been known to collaborate with Squarejaw and Farnsworth to crack Mr. Peabody's computer and alter activities and camp team points in their favor.  He has an almost obsessive crush on Suzy Smith and is constantly bringing her inventions as gifts.

7.  Cecil Salmon's lack of spine got him into a lot of trouble last summer at camp, and this summer will be no different.  Often bullied into spying on Team Triple Trouble, Cecil just lacks the willpower to stand up to Hermann Squarejaw.  Mike and company usually avoid him, though they occasionally show sympathy for his lack of a backbone and invite him on their adventures.

8.  Amber Gleason:  Super Spy.  She's Team Triple Trouble's equivalent to Cecil Salmon, and because no one at camp has ever seen her face, she could be ANYBODY.  Talking always in whispers and usually appearing out of nowhere with a tidbit of information Mike needs at just the right time, Amber helps out whenever Hermann Squarejaw's gang tries to cheat at something.

9.  Hermann Squarejaw is a former camp regular who is now a counselor.  Mike and he are bitter enemies, having cheated Mike's team out of a win the previous year.  Hermann's the typical bully in a position of power, and for most of the kids that spells wedgies and black eyes!  He's also an expert archer, though last summer he was beaten for the first time...by a girl!

10.  Suzy Smith is a cute and naive first-summer camper who is often lost in thought.  The only people at camp she ever has trouble with are Johnny Halbert, whose gifts typically backfire, and June Summers, who, quite simply, hates everyone.

11.  Stella Rubens never wanted to be a camp nurse.  I mean, who would?  After a patient in her care died from a bad case of food poisoning, however, Stella's dreams of one day becoming a doctor went up in smoke and she's been a school nurse ever since, working at Camp Copycat during the summer for extra pay.  Though Nurse Rubens hates kids and her job, she's extremely good at it, patching the kids up no matter what sort of trouble they get into.  She wants her son to become a doctor and is always trying to teach him medical facts, which he gets horribly wrong.  She recently won an award for best camp nurse, but then she's the only nurse at camp.

12.  Eagle-Eye Bernstein is a crackshot with a slingshot, and only Mike Higgins can rival his aim.  Their friendly rivalry has gotten them in trouble on more than one occasion, as one will challenge the other to hit a difficult target under strange conditions (like being upside down and blindfolded).  Bernstein is a member of Team Triple Trouble and likes to claim he hit Hermann Squarejaw in the eye.  This is revealed to be a lie when Hermann's eyepatch falls off during a tug of war game, proving that he has two working eyes and wears the patch to 'look tough'.

13.  Max Rubens suffers from intense hypochondria due to all of the medical 'training' his mother Nurse Rubens has tried to impart to him.  Unfortunately, Max just isn't old enough to understand much beyond things that can hurt him, and so he's often the target for attacks by June Summers, who always seems able to convince him he has some disease or other.  A gentle boy by nature, Suzy Smith gets very angry with June whenever she bothers Max.

14.  June Summers hates camp.  She hates everything about it: the bugs, the kids, the counselors, the creaky doors and poorly-plumbed showers.  Her need to constantly complain about her situation makes a lot of kids avoid her entirely, though she steers clear of Squarejaw and especially Farnsworth, who, being more wealthy than she is, made fun of her.  The only kid to actively stand up to her attitude is Mike, and this earns him her grudging respect.  On occasion she even assists Team Triple Trouble against Team Jawsome, mainly because of all the people she hates at camp, Farnsworth is THE WORST EVER.

15.  Billy Buckingham's always got his hands in his pockets, and he's always on the move.  Billy's also got Obsessive Compulsive Disorder really, really bad and can't seem to control himself even when in the presence of Nurse Rubens, who has had to treat him for all sorts of rashes.  Billy's usually too worried about doing everything in a set pattern to see the big picture, and his team often loses the Camp Challenge because he's counting pebbles or retracing his steps perfectly...or fiddling.

16.  Jimmy Paradox (at least that's what he asks everyone to call him) is the self-proclaimed paranormal investigator at Camp Copycat, so whenever something weird is happening Mike and company call on Jimmy for his 'expertise'.  Jimmy is often seen with his 'ghost gear', spare equipment built by his father that he claims can detect ghosts in a 3-foot radius.  Florence suspects the ghost gulper to be an elaborate vacuum, though Jimmy swears it works on ghosts, too.  He is friends with Peter Rankin, who he thinks is plagued by a stench demon.

17.  Fat kid, aka Albert Choi, is probably the nicest kid you'll ever meet.  Unfortunately, nobody but Ryu Koden can understand him, and even he has trouble.  Albert is one of the youngest kids at camp and therefore a target for all sorts of pranks.  He can out-eat everyone at camp and is a Team Triple Trouble favorite for the hotdog eating contest.

18.  Amanda French is a cheerleader by day and night; unfortunately, there's no need for a cheerleader at camp and so she's put in a very awkward position of having no one she can relate to.  She and Krissy usually hang out together since they're the same age, but since Krissy was never a cheerleader they rarely have much to talk about.  Amanda is easily the tallest and skinniest person at camp, earning her the nickname French Fry.  Hermann's made numerous (over a hundred) attempts at wooing her, all of which have failed miserably.

19.  Ryu Koden grew up watching martial arts films and has developed an unhealthy fixation with crafting swords from whatever materials he can find, which Mr. Peabody regularly confiscates.  He and Amber are often seen talking, which is surprising considering how few people Amber actually talks to.  Ryu acts as the camp's asian interpreter, often with humorous results.  He's part of Billy's team this year at camp and is determined for them not to lose the Camp Challenge.

20.  Peter Rankin is probably the smelliest kid at camp, and perhaps, the world.  He winces when the word bath is mentioned, and on the odd occasion when Mr. Peabody intervenes, Peter usually just jumps in the local lake and calls it good.  He and Jimmy Paradox are good friends, though he wishes he'd stop trying to exorcise his smell.  Is a member of Billy's team along with Ryu and Sebastian.

21.  Earnest Lincoln has been Mike's friend for 6 years and is one of the founding members of Team Triple Trouble.  Oozing cool from every pore, he's probably the most laid back kid in camp.  He and Mike are always planning some crazy prank or adventure with the help of Bernstein and the gang.  He avoids Peter Rankin and Max Rubens because they have no fashion sense.

22.  Sebastian is a one-man band, beating his drums until someone takes them away, though he's always got a spare set hiding somewhere.  The wild kid of the bunch he's often sent as a diversion for Team Jawsome so Mike and the gang can get something they need to solve a mystery.

23.  Inbred Jed would feel completely out of place at Camp Copycat if he were competent enough.  Not being a member of the camp, he lumbers around out in the forest by his shack swinging around a plastic knife he found in the camp junkyard along with a hockey mask.  It's rumored that his family owns the land Camp Copycat was built on and that if he were ever made wise to it he could have the place shut down...but who would do such a thing?

24.  Jeff 'The Beef' Farnsworth is a cream of the crop rich kid whose parents sent him to Camp Copycat to learn humility, much to the chagrin of the other kids.  Arrogant, annoying, and mean-spirited are just three of Jeff's virtues, and he enjoys rubbing his wealth into the other kids faces, especially June Summers, who thought she was the rich kid until he showed up.  He is part of Team Jawsome only because it gives him a chance to show how much better he is than everyone else.

25.  Penny Cooper's been attending Camp Copycat for three summers now, and aside from the occasional smile she's never said much to anyone.  After consoling Mike last summer after his loss to Team Jawsome he's been trying to get her to talk more.  Lincoln just thinks they're getting lovey-dovey.  Penny's an excellent shot with a bow and arrow, as Hermann learns when she beats his score at the archery tournament.

26.  Steve loves to cook up crazy 'French' concoctions and finds the kids of Camp Copycat to be a captive audience for his unique dishes.  He's managed to convince Mr. Peabody that he is actually from France, though Mike and the gang have seen him lose his accent for a moment when nervous or angry.  He's enamored with Amanda French, at least in part because of her last name.

So there's how all the members of Camp CopyCat fit together...but which of them is my favorite?  Clear favorites were Florence Darling, Mr. Peabody, Stella Rubens, and Johnny Halbert.  But there can only be one.

Well if you paid careful attention it should be obvious that the Camp CopyCat winner is:

NURSE STELLA RUBENS

Yes, Kastchey made the character who I felt had the most 'character', and so he has reigned victorious over a startling number of impressive characters.  This is his trophy:

But no one goes home from Camp CopyCat a loser.  Oh no!  There's always the big Camp Photo at the end of each summer, so enjoy and thanks for coming to Camp CopyCat!

I'd already planned to do this before Caine started with the group image ;).

Now it's your turn to come up with something fun, Kastchey!

Revan

Awesome! Well done Kastchey. . . I hope you come up with the next comp soon.

This was amazing and obviously got everyone interested.

Thanks ProgZmax . . .

Gadzooks! Am I now to come up with a third competition in a row? I suppose I have just used up my lifetime of 'winner' entries...

That was a great read, ProgZmax, and one of the best AGS competitions ever hosted. It'll be hard to come up with something even half as fun as this one, but I'm gonna try my best.
(Edit: And whoa, the trophy... amazing work. This is really something special)

And by the way:
QuoteKrissy's upbeat, carefree nature often gets her in trouble with Nurse Rubens
I had EXACTLY the same thought.

Wyz

Well the group pictures are both awesome. I had soo much fun with all those entries and reading the descriptions. Good show all!

Btw, good luck Kastchey thinking up another competition. ;)

Shut up =P  ;)

Arboris

26 entries in total. I don't think I've ever seen so many in a single spritejam. You might've set a record there ProgZmax :P

And congratulations Katschey

Awesome competition. Stella was my favorite for the competition as well. Incidentally, I originally started working on Krissy as camp nurse, but she changed into a swim instructor when I decided I didn't want to add a lab coat to her. Maybe Krissy has a habit of stepping on Stella's toes with her knowledge of first aid and the kids usually coming to her instead?

Anyway, I think this was one of the most fun competitions we've had on the forums in years, and immense kudos to Progz for coming up with a great theme that everyone could do something with. I don't know about a replacement for RoN, but I seriously think that we could make a damned fun group game project out of Camp Copycat. It's easy to hash together characters and plots for a summer camp, and more than anything else, it's fun!

Congrats, Kastchey - Grand slam! Well done sprite, and great concept.

Wow, what an honor to be in the top 4 concideration--especially from ProgZ. I'm just in awe.   This was such a fun competition, and I was excited whenever I saw a new entry, and SPC's group pic grow. I checked the thread every day to see how the camp has expanded.

Congrat's Kastchey, You deserve the win with every pixel =)
