Well, there were those two campers... but at 320x200 you don't get to see much... And it is rather gorish and bloody, so yeah, 18+ clearly.

Right, another thing that's puzzling me
Spoiler
: at that sequence where the Lost One aproaches you and you have a shotgun, and must shoot the wreched soul, I shot him, in the leg, the torso, the head and just about everywhere and still, nothing happened, he still came at me and the sequence ended. Nothing bad happened, I didn't die or anything, but it did leave a question mark in my mind.

Could you tell me what exactly you wanted to acheive with that sequence, Gord?

Thanks and Kudos.

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

The spoiler tag is with "hide", and not "spoiler". At any rate, maybe it's the amount of times you shot him and not where. I shot him some times, last one to the head actually, and there's definitely more to that sequence.

Spoiler
When you hit the demon about 5 times (I am not sure It remember how much shots exactly they were), he falls onto his knees, leading some other sequences. If he approaches you, he 'kills' you; but as this is just a dream, you wake up when he catches you.
Everytime you shoot him, he flinches back with a painful groan; you can understand you really shooted him then.

Oh, by the way;
*Thank you all for your comments!
*Let me announce something. LitN 2 is no more (for now). Gave up.
I just think it's story is not as pretty as the LitN 1; I didn't want a clichêd (and probably crappy) horror game sequel, just like in the commercial horror movies. And also there were some personal reasons why I gave up that...
But I'm currently working on something else with AGS. You can think of this the REAL sequel of LitN 1; even though this new game has a completely different story.
http://coolbluegames.com/magnum.jpg I will start a new topic when everything is ready for an announce.

What about a deluxe version? Is it still upcoming?

Yes, still thinking of it. Didn't proceed much, though.

I'm not sure about adding the extra level where we play as Lost One (before him selling his soul to demons). I have its story in my mind; but that scenario would not be such a scary game experience. Maybe someday I would release that extra level as another game. Actually I am just unsure if a Deluxe version is such necassary..

There will be a 1.2 version (that is not Deluxe; just v1.2) as soon as the proofreading and betatesting is completed. Some little bugs and my crappy English script will be fixed in v1.2

This v1.2 is actually just for the new players who will be downloading the game first time. And the most important; they won't need to  struggle with patches, they will have downloaded the unbugged version.

The scenario doesn't have to be a scary game experience, does it? Especially since we're talking about a scenario with more dramatic possibilites, rather than scary ones. Plus, it would be a nice bonus to be unlocked after the end of the game. I *love* watching the same story from some other character's eyes, or getting to know more about some character's side of the story. Since LitN is really a story-driven game, these little extras, little short stories rather than epilogues, can only add to it.

Re non-existence of deluxe - if you feel there's no need, then need is there not. :) Still, I'd urge you to consider having the mouse cursor become an arrow when it's on a "turn-aroundable" or "navigateable" portion of the screen.

In fact, here's this suggestion, see how you like it - one single cursor, than changes automatically to/from arrows when on/outside of "navigatiable" areas, and that "activates" (highlights, really) when on a hotspot - and left click DO, and right click LOOK. Plus, of course, the inventory item.

Another suggestion - the inventory screen is clunky. If you could put the inventory in a scrolling bar at bottom/top of the screen, maybe always visible and maybe pop-up, Broken Sword- or LSL6-style...

I know you probably don't want to spend too much more time in LitN, and want to go ahead and make your other games. But since you're considering a new version, and have considered a deluxe, consider these two suggestions. It'd only increase immersion, which is always great for a story-driven game.

Yeah, an arrow indicating movement would really be a nice little touch. Would also remind me alot of "The 11th Hour" (Man, that was a great game.)

RichClairemont

Anyone else having the problem of not being able to use the inventory after you get the music box on your way to steal the keys from that guy's hut? Ã,
I downloaded the patch and still no luck. Ã, Maybe it's not a glitch, I'm just missing something??

Eniena

I realize that this topic is old and that Ahmet has already said he's working on a 1.2 version of LITN, but I just wanted to let you all know he's still working on it.

Infact, as of this moment, proofreading is almost done and a few more bugs have been discovered and should (hopefully) be fixed for 1.2.

I'll probably let Ahmet fill you in on the progress of 1.2, I've probably said enough.

@RichClairemont: Maybe you should try the saved games of the 1.1 version: http://coolbluegames.com/litn1/bugfixlitn.zip

Announcement
As Eniena said, I'm working on the 1.2 version. This won't be the Deluxe version I had mentioned, though; as my plans for the sub-story is to make it a new game in future. Also the noise effect doesn't look so pretty in LitN 1 despite my expections.

Version 1.2 will include
*The new proofreaded script by Eniena. I can say now the game's text is not disturbing anymore, Eniena did a really good job.

*Improvement on the graphics. I wasn't satisfied with the old backgrounds.

*Some minor bugs will be fixed. And the issues that Rui mentioned above.

I hope I can finish the new version in a few day, before going on vacation.

I have to be honest Gord, when I got you email telling me you were going to revent back to the original lines of dialogue you wrote for the current version of LITN, I feel as though I've wasted alot of my time. I reedited those lines in order to make the game fully understandable to english speaking audiences.

However, if you're willing too, I can reedit some of the lines to be in the style you originally wrote them in, while still being completley understandable to english speaking players.

EDIT: I've just reviewed the script you sent me and, I can assure you, that you've pretty much just sent a majority of the dialogue back to the state it was in before.

You really should've just told me that you wanted some lines to remain in the style they were written in before you sent me the script to proofread.

Snarky

Eniena, I hope you're just agitated, and that the proofreading in the game will be more consistent than in your post. Right?

Eniena

Believe me, when I get agitated, I usually tend to forget to be consistent in my writing.

In any case, proofreading is NOT finished and will be resuming due to this completley unwanted setback.

Fantomas

First, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the game. It is one of the best amateur-made horror adventures I've ever played. Congratulations for the author!

Second, I've also come across the already broadly discussed in this thread "inventory bug". It occurs long before you try to use the music box, but that is the first time it blocks the game. Today I will try the patch (without the .cfg file in the directory). Let's hope it will work for me.

Finally, I'd like to ask - what about version 1.2. It should have been ready by now?

Gord10

Thank you very much, Fantomas :)
Yes, the deluxe version should have been ready by now. But I decided to add more features inside the game. It took longer than I expected to prepare translation pack of the game into Turkish and adding a new level. Also I couldn't manage to finish and release the new version before my university begins, I have much less free time now. However, me (and my friend who is translating the game into Turkish) doing our best.

Hi, again!

I am not sure whether this thread is suitable for my next question, but as long Gord10 is checking it, I will post here.

Yesterday, after I've applied successfully the patch, I've played the game to the end. I have tried 3 different endings (depending on a choice made in the middle of the game). Plus 1 more ending in the middle of the game, when I tried to be braver than it was neeeded and I was buried alive.
My question is - are there other endings? I tried to find walkthrough or something in the internet but in vain.

Once again - very good game, even in version 1.1.! Good work, Ahmet! I've found a bug in the very end - if you haven't taken everything, when for the second time in Levent, at the end it appears in the inventory nonetheless (the good ending). I try not to tell it directly, because it could be spoiler and I don't know how to make my text hidden.

Gord10

Thanks :)
Spoiler

*The other ending (in v1.0 and v1.1) is when we decide to follow Yalcin in the forest. A death sequence, as well.
*I have noticed and fixed that bug. Thanks for reporting it, though.

And yes, it is a shame that an English walkthrough is not written yet. There is only a Dutch one.

Heyas,

Just wondering whether or not 1.2 is still 'on the way' and when it'll hit the servers for download. The game looks great but I've tried it before and I never really got on with the English. I'd love to give it a spin as soon as thats addressed. Update please!

It's a shame that Litn2 has fallen apart, the photographic art style you was developing looked promising! Glad to hear you've got more on the way though :)

Keep us posted!

Thanks for your concern :) Yes, the game is 'still on way'.

To be honest; I didn't take care of the game as much as I should had, due to some private psychological issues (also the stress of my country being in war should be added to these). I'm not still in a good mood today; but I was already planning to spend my day on PC making the game even before seeing this post. I think the best things to do is to continue on working hard.

Some earlier new created scenes were these:

It's looking very promising :)

Looks like some truly great work, sorry to hear things are rough for you at the moment. I'm looking forward to the release.. I wish you well ;D

Thanks for the speedy update!
