I like bill! I really like the sketchy ms paint look to him!
The main thing that stands out to me is the fact that he looks to be leaning to the left (his right) what i would suggest is possibly move the like that makes up his torso more to the center of his hips.

although this style is...er....unique. it is..............CRAP, GARBAGE ETC. No one would like to play a game using these types of graphics. they aren't appealing at all. Sorry to be so harsh but if your going to post something, next time make sure it took you more than 10 seconds! Again, sorry to be so harsh.

P.S these are great drawings if your under 5 years old

this is the critics lounge you prick, not the "my arseheaded opinion" lounge. where the hell did all these graphics nazis spring from all of a sudden?
personally i like the sprite but i would take note of what cpage said and fix it so that he doesn't seem to be leaning to the left so much and perhaps give him a mouth for greater expression.

No but really Even Relentless said that he didnt care for graphics when he played world of chaos he realised that he did. We as humans are visaul creatures we want to see stuff pleasing to the eye.

Rolf spend a little more time on it and if its really not what you want show us what you want and well try and help you achieve that level however if this for some strange reason is what you want I would say not many will play a game like that... IMO

It's an interesting style. Considering you said your favorite game was one of the Monkey Island Games, you've not tried ripping the sprites from that and making a fan game. I respect that. This style of art could make an interesting game.

Others:

Boyd's right. Graphic Nazis. Surely you realise this is the "Critic's Lounge" and not the "Sh*t on the Parade Before it Even Starts Lounge". He's not ripping art, he's actually bothered to draw it. He's come here to improve that art, not get told it's garbage. The actual body shape alone seems reasonably good (aside from the slanting). How would you like it if everyone said all your work was crap?

Great work if you're under 5 years old? Great comment if you can't act over 5 years old, too. Stop being mean and try for constructive critisicism, and not just poking fun at people.

As for the mouth, I think he has a bit more character without one. I've had a character in mind for years that never has a mouth, getting the eyes to do all the emotions and stuff. It's hard, but it's possible. It all depends on the situation, I guess.

I'd also like to endorse supportive criticism on the forums, and apart from his lean leaning to the left, this is quite an appealing sprite.

The main reason I like the sprite is I'd love to see a game where you have to pick up trophies in order to get hair. That would blow everyone's mind.

Rolf, if you have trouble making a character look balanced try flipping the image so it is mirrored horizontally. That will show if a character is leaning one way or the other.

These drawings are so crap its unbelievableÃ,Â :oÃ,Â this style could work out if you set some rules:

1)draw a stick man
2)add distinguashable features
3)sit back and errr...admire???

seriously though- the drawings are'nt good, theres no proper shape to the body. here's an example of what i mean

see? theres a shape to the body, but still the scribbled 5 year old type lines. you could even get rid of the black outlines

One basic way to get a balanced form is to draw one half of the basic body, copy it and paste it flipped to the other side.

look im just giving my opinion- let me ask you: would you want to play a game with these types of graphics? i don't think you would. the game could be absolutly brilliant but if the graphics don't match then it would let itself down immensly.
