Off the Side main character

When she looks at thing she will get her glasses from her pocket or from around her neck and then wear them to focus on objects... is this a good or bad idea?

I like the idea, but it could get a bit tedious having her put on and take off her glasses all the time. Just for reading things or looking at small details would be fine though (Maybe that's what you meant anyway?)
