Maybe you guys already saw some versions around of my main character, Roxy Fox.. she has now been taken to the final level..
check it out and c&c please..

I think I did a pretty good job
from going from a pretty bad version to a pretty good one.. what do you guys think? dont be too hard pleaseÃ,  ;D

first versions of Roxy from 2004 (dont laugh please):

dont crit this one its an example

dont crit this one its an example

Now back to business.. what do you guys think from the final version..

Nikolas

I like the perm...  ;D

One comment I would have is that there are no shadows whatsoever! I don't know if this is something you're after, but it could benefit very much from two or three different colours in the legs, arms, breast...

But I like it.

Roxy is hot!

DonB

Ahh.. Nikolas.. you want her phone number?Ã,  ;D

About shadows.. I don't got the knowledge of where to put which shadow, so I just can't do it.. It will be a pain in the ass for me to make that.. and even if i could manage to do this one with the help of somebody here.. i got a 100 of other characters which are to be made including shadows, it's simply a thing i can't..

And.. are shadows really that good? cause on one background the lightsource is from an other angle then in the other background..

Anyways.. appreciated!

The Ivy

I think her nose should be a different colour than the other dark outlines on her face.  Right now it doesn't stand out enough.  Also, her stance in the front view looks really unnatural.  I imagine you want her to look like she's leaning on one hip, but right now it just looks like she's been horsebackriding.  I recommend finding a reference photo, even though this is a cartoony sprite.  Good luck!

goldude

Try and maje her bust bigger, ;)

Kinoko

(I'm gonna pretend I don't despise furries for a moment...)

I may do a paint over when I get home in an hour, because I'm not sure I can adequately describe this, but I think you need to let the hair on the right side of her face come down. As it is, it looks to me as if you've drawn her face continuing up into the hair, and it looks squarish and doesn't flow nicely.

I think the tail comes out too far on her front-on view. There's no need to make things correspond exactly to other views, but it seems it would benefit from being pulled in a bit.

I think it's important to be a tad free with the side-on views. Let a bit of her right leg show, maybe at the back from the knee. It will make the whole thing look a little more relaxed and natural. The curve in her hair is ... well, huge, but I don't think you need to be so exact with that, either.

Her legs are maybe just a tad too wide apart in the front on view, but overall, it's a pretty damn sweet figure you've drawn. The hips are well proportioned and the breasts are siting nicely. Honestly, you've done a really good job with the figure :)

HUGE improvement on 2004 though, but I'm sure you knew that ^_^

I will change this indeed..

Tbh.. i dont agree.. and i did use a reference photo for the legs, i used a photo of michelle pfeiffer posing on the catwalkÃ,  ;D.. so cant be too unnatural..

I think you are right.. I will change this.

Well, when people pose, they don't stand very relaxed... they pose, so they have an active stance. Just like your character doesn't seem to stand relaxed at the moment.

But she isn't supposed to stand relaxing.. the meaning is; she poses in a certain sexy but mean way.. like she wants to say; now.. what you want me to do.. I'm ready for action but theres no action coming from you..

like.. Here I am.. now what must i do..

but if you all disagree with me.. i would appreciate a small paintover of just the legs.. cause i dont see the wrong thing in the legs.. even if she was relaxing.. i tried to improve them the way you guys are telling.. but it won't work out positive..

seaduck

What a lovely character!

- changed the colours (she looked as if she were behind an orange haze) - increased the contrasts both in lightness and in hue (note that her top is outlined in purple)
- some stretching of the profile to make it match the front view
- made the nose round rather than square
- moved the mouth upward in profile
- removed the double pixels

But hey, I didn't even warm up yet! If I get some time I'll look into the following:
- her forehead seems too high/the head is a bit oddly shaped
- a more dynamic stance (not 100% front, not 100% profile)
- the arms are a bit shapeless, especially in the profile
- shading

She looks really cool and cute, excellent work!

Thanks a lot for the new colors,
It's the monitor I'm using here (way too dark) so i cant do good colors, thanks a lot.. its really helping..

Quotemade the nose round rather than square
I already tried this once if i remember right, but i dont think its better then the square one..

QuoteBut hey, I didn't even warm up yet!
Would be nice to see you warmed up then ;D

what about now?

-kept the nose like it was
-newer tail
-made the pants something lower (hip jeans)

I wanted to change the legs only at first, but then I ended up pushing the pixels. My face is a completely different approach, but maybe you find it useful.

3xÃ,  Ã,  ed:
(14 cols instead of 12, not counting the background)

EDIT: some small tweaks

CaptainBinky

The only thing which stands out to me (and this would require the shading approach taken by khrismuc) is to imply bulges where her hands (paws?) are in her pockets rather than at the moment where it looks a bit like she has no hands.

Also (my twopence worth), I think I preferred the hair colour as it was originally - a bit less bleached blonde and more natural. But that' just probably my taste :p

Be inteterested in the game she's from. I approve of videogame vixens (ho ho)!

khrismuc, what can i say, that's just sick, thanks for showing me how to use shadows effectively, i mean.. damm those boops.. the hair looks amazing as well, i will use things from this if you dont mind to further improve my character.. perhaps some shadows, altho i dont like to make shadows.. and something from the hair..

Very nice, respect!

Captainblinkey,
I am not sure about the new colors yet, i have to relook it on a better monitor then this one.. so things might change for a bit..

Or a tasty foxÃ,  ;D

I tried to do new versions,

one with just some important new details like the boopjob ;)

And one with shading like krys did:

Is all this going the good way or the wrong way..

big brother

What's a boop?

This sprite needs some work. The curves are very shaky and some of the outlines (in the latest edit) are inconsistent. I almost prefer the first picture you posted over the latest (although the curve problems still exist in that one, the color ramp differences are a little less aggressive).

I disagree with Big Bro on this. The latest image looks a lot better to me. I think it suits the style that your striveing to acheive. Tonal graduation could be fixed up a little better but I like what you have. Keep up the good work  :D

Ubel

Here's my try at this:

  • Softer colors (I somehow like it more this way. Those bright colors hurt my eyes)
  • Smaller nose (Looks more attractive)
  • Some other very small fixes here and there...
