I'm not "with the times", so bare with me.

I just found out that he is going to be performing at the LAX club in Las Vegas. Eh? Then I found out that he's on MTV2. Last I remembered he had his own little geocities site posting pictures of himself and his grandfather and telling how his grandfather touches him and make him eat poo - or something like that distasteful anyway.

So....eh?

Oh, and every time I see this name, I think of Andy Penis which I think is was DG who created.

Meh.

He does stupid things on MTV. While that fits perfectly with the rest of the programming on MTV (with one or two exceptions), I fail to see how it is anything other than boring.

I know we can't blame TV for such things as high-school shootouts.

However, we can blame TV for aiming for the lowest common denominator, rather than attempting to at least educate children. Telling people "hey, it's okay to be stupid" leads to a nation of stupid people.

I used to watch his show sometimes when I accidently found out it was on. Most of his jokes are incridibly lame but some of them are actually pretty funny. But I don't know if he's any good live. I once saw him on some rap show and he was really lame so.... I would be better save then sorry and go to something else instead. Or stay home and play adventure games

I joined AGS in the middle or at the start of the Andy Penis thing so I was never sure of this Andy Milonakis kid. I always thought they were the same

The Andy Penis character DG created was funny, since he always messed with us. Then someone posted this Andy kid's site. He was just an idiot. I think if I happened to catch his show I'd watch a few minutes but end up changing it.

I agree that MTV is just a bunch of crap. If they're not showing stupid rap videos (which I believe are all the same) they're playing those stupid-ass reality shows. Ergh, I hate reality shows and MTV's are the worst.

In my opinion, of course.

I'm not a big fan of the idiot either. I can't really blame him for exploiting the stupidity of this country though. I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank. Personally I don't find him funny, clever, or original. He's cut and paste crap that the mindless (which there are sadly WAY too many of) find humorous.

InCreator, I agree with you almost all the way.
You said it offers new ways to express stupidity. I think it influences them to think it's alright to be stupid, since, like they've seen on TV, "it's comedy".

Youth, for example, are highly influenced by what they see on TV. If something is supposed to be funny, but is purely and obviously commonsenceless and idiotic, they (along with most of their friends) are going to think it's great. This encourages them to think it's perfectly fine to do it since it's "funny" and they'll get a laugh out of it not realizing that they look like an idiot and can possibly injure themselves (by doing something they saw on Jackass or similar shows for example).

I think it is more the Internet now than it is television.

Look at all the stupid videos on youtube or break(.com). Look at what some of these people are doing. I cannot believe how many people copy stupid stunts only to end up getting injured.

Yes, they are funny to watch.

edit: people are looking for any way to get their 15 minutes of fame i guess.

I have no idea whos the guy you are talking about, but all I want to say is that MTV is crap. I remember when MTV showed some nice experimental music videos that were cool to watch. Then it was mostly good music and pop art, now its just "gangstas with ho's" and stupid white kids.

TV couldn't make people less stupid, but TV could make people less proud of being stupid. That is the problem. If people realize that being stupid isn't cool, they can do other things to make themselves less stupid. As it is, we're just creating a mediocracy.

Sure, but the time he's spending being a prick could be time better used for giving kids a reason to vote when they're older. Or teach them the human anatomy or something. His dicking about can only be funny if he inherits the name Andy Penis. :p
