April 1st is over now here, but yesterday I did a whole lot of crazy things. I called up my friend early in the morning, and told him another one of my friends had died, and his service was in an hour, and we would be going there directly from college. The look on his face was priceless when he turned up in 10 minutes in incredibly neat and conservative clothes (a new for him). You might think it was slightly morbid, but the guy who was supposed to be dead came up with the idea. Aside from that, there were the usual sending angry cards to people and filling other peoples names in the "FROM:" box. Still have to see the results of that

That was the only one I pulled. Didn't get a chance to pull any pranks outside the PC. Maybe next year tho! I didn't really hear about any other April Fools jokes.

This one was pretty cruel:

Two-Headed Ogres Added as a Playable Race in World of Warcraft - 04/01/04
It's official: Blizzard Entertainment is proud to announce that Two-headed Ogres are now a playable race in World of Warcraft, our upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Giving two separate players simultaneous control of a single body, this new race introduces a unique cooperative gaming experience never before attempted. See them for yourself in this exclusive preview, which includes the first available screenshots and an exciting first look at the innovative new game mechanics. Current beta testers should expect to see this new content added in the coming weeks.

By selecting the Two-headed Ogre race, you are selflessly choosing to share your existence in World of Warcraft with another player. That is, you are staking claim to one half of the Ogre whole. As a Two-headed Ogre, you will have control of one head and one arm at all times. Your other half will be controlled by a second player automatically and permanently paired with you upon character creation…

(from the www.worldofwarcraft.com website).

It sounded sooo cool - and turns out be a prank. :(

That website's gone to a lot of trouble to appear convincing. And it certainly does the trick. It's not the sort of site that I'd expect to pull an April Fool's, so normally I'd buy into it....

Radio 4 said the Archers was changing it's theme tune to a hip techno version (I'm so cool to know that)

And I also heard about a chicken-powered nuclear bomb from the cold war.

But ... apparently that one wasn't a joke:

Last night just before April Fools was over, me and my roomate called an old friend. A couple of weeks ago I was randomly googling the names of friends from high school, and I found this post at a gay/lesbian forum. I was totally surprised because she'd never told us anything like this, but we were scared to confront her about it because we hadn't talked to her in a while and didn't want to embarass her.

So, on April Fools day I called her and found out she knew nothing about it, and it's just some strange coincedence that a girl with her exact name, age, and state posted that she was a lesbian on a gay forum. I recorded that conversation too, but it's not that funny.. I have 30 minutes of audio though so I think I'm going to edit it and have her admitting it so I can send it back to our old school and convince everyone that she is a lesbian using the website and edited phone convo as evidence.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Er, okay. It's not like another human has any right to keep her personal life private or anything, right?

Dude, she's not really a lesbian. Coincedence.

I totally believe in letting people preserve their private life, if you don't believe me, just take this quiz.

Ah. Well, I thought you implying that she was lying about the coincidence.
Still, the joke could turn a bit sour. Especially since April Fool's is over.

Cool quiz, by the way. :D

She'll think it's funny.. When I called her it still worked as an April fools joke, because I told her we sent the webpage to my roomate's mom (a teacher at our old school) and she "only told 14 or 15 people, and they respect you, so they wouldn't spread it around." In fact, my roomate mentioned it but said we hadn't talked to her about it so we didn't know. The joke would be more on the people at the school than her, because she'd just react by laughing at them for believing me (I'm notorious for making up flamboyant lies to my family and friends, except with my mom, who hasn't seemed to catch on).
