Not a bad idea. Though I have this girlfriend thing here that made me get rid of all my computer-junk half a year ago. That's 2 boxes of golden rubbish. Anyway, I'm not sure she'd appreciate it. :)

What is it about girlfriends that prevents them seeing the beauty of a box full of miscellaneous cables and old computer parts?

Probably whatever makes my mom prefer her new netbook to her old clunky desktop. :P

I don't really like frontends for DOSbox. Much more fun to get into the guts. Then again, I installed Debian Linux from scratch on an old 233Mhz laptop, so I may be a little insane about that sort of thing.

But it really is an amazing piece of work. I can finally play X-COM again!

I have never had problems running any games in dosbox. I don't see how you guys get that.

I can run about out 30 games. maybe 2-3 don't work. And my PC is like modern as anything. Like I can run any modern game without a single issue. Usually if a game was made after 1995 it probably will work with compatibility thing on windows. Cause that was after windows 95 ( who wouldn't of guessed that).  Just as an idea for you guys. I noticed some people found older versions of dos box worked on certain games.

My girlfriend can make me cook, clean, wash up, shop, eat things I normally wouldn't in restaurants I normally wouldn't enter, sometimes even listen to music or watch movies I normally wouldn't - but she can't take my electronic scrap away from me, no sir! And I swear, and may you all be my witnesses, that one day I'll build something really useful from it.

And about the "girlfriend doesn't want me to get old computer to play DOS games" argument: Can she say no to something as cute as this? It has a mouse button that will make a little mouse jump out of the case!

Solution: dump controlling woman and live your life the way you want.  I'm not sure why guys grow up to look for mommies they can have sex with legally but seriously, grow some stones! :)
