So, have you guys heard, Worms 3 are coming...yaay...
Tho i am a little disappointed that it wont be in 2d anymore,  i think 3d will do just fine for a massive-multi-player-slaying-game-challenge-whatever-includes-killing...
Aaah i remember when like,"7 of us", came in front of my PC and played Worms 2, or Armageddon,  :D those were the times...
Well what do you guys say bout it??

3d will probably do to worms what it did to lemmings.

Trapezoid

What?!! 3D??!! Nooo.... One of the things I loved about Armageddon was how unique the graphics were. Those screenshots look slightly poopie. :(

Hey, there's nothing wrong with Lemmings 3D. It brought a whole new aspect to the game.

Yeah, it brought the whole nail in the coffin of the series.

god, just give it a chance, this reminds me of metroid and metroid prime

I'm really looking forward to this game, I think the screenshots look very promising. The 2D games are great, but after four 2d games in the series and three of them using the same graphics & engine, it's about time they did something new.

I think it looks great so far.

I just hope they'll make people realise that voxels are, in fact, the ONLY way to do 3D. That is, if you don't count textured polygones. Which I personally don't.
Those who can, do, and those who can't brag about how they do it at least fifty times a day somewhere on the internet.

I think the 3d may just compromise the simplicity of the game play that made Worms (and lemmings popular).

Sure it may work, but it may not have the accessability and addictiveness that characterised the earlier installments.

I agree with Las.  Though I think it was rather stupid how often they reused the same graphics and engine, the greatest thing about Worms is how simple it is to just sit down and play and have a blast.  I don't care how "good" of a game Worms 3 is, there's no way it can avoid become more compled with a move to 3D.  Complexity isn't a bad thing (at all), but when simplicity itself is one of the absolute tenets of a game, it doesn't seem like a good idea to me.  I've seen screenshots and read plenty about the game, and I agree that, yes, they LOOK fantastic.  However, there's no way the game is going to feel the same.  There's not a chance.  I'm not saying it will be bad, but it will not be the same.  Ninja ropes are a great example.  I know I don't speak for everyone, but ninja ropes were my favorite part of Worms, and from what I've read about Worms 3, they won't be nearly as cool (though I haven't read the dev notes in a while, so who knows).  Hey, maybe I'll be proven wrong and this game will rule.  I'm at least looking forward to fully-deformable 3D landscapes.

It does look like they're going to do a good job of making it 3D.

n3tgraph

as long as they make it multiplayer :)

yknow... I think worms 3d could work actually!
I go a lot to lan parties... and when there we always play a few hours of worms2 AND worms-HL which is a half life mod and works the same as worms.

Pretty hilarious game if you ask me:

at least... we had great fun with it :)

Sometimes the leap to 3D works really well.

Look at GTA3 for example. At first some people thought the change from top down to full 3D wouldn't work but of course it did.
