My first ever post is in response to someone linking to demo quest:

2190     General / General Discussion / Re: DEMO Games??    on: 14 Oct 2005, 23:54
Shucks, that's a bit late for me. I had to learn the hard way, without any examples other than the default stuff!

Anyway I've got to grips with most of it and I'm currently making a game that seems to be massive in file size..

Haha, oh I used to be funny:
(For christmas)
"Oh, and I want my own game completed. C'mon Santa, here's the AGS manual, get cracking."

Do you remember when I used to create threads? Yes well *ahem* how sweet is this pointless thread eh?

R4L: If you're 16 now, then it must've been 1999-2000 when you joined. When was AGS created?

Quote from: Hammerite on Tue 24/07/2007 14:55:15
Adventure Creator was made in 1997, later rewritten as AGS in September 1999.

There you have it. It was right after Rob Blanc one was released!  :o

ildu

Wow, I was 9 years old around 1993, which just happened to be the year that DOTT and S&M:HtR were released. It was also the year my brother and I got both of those games. And I can honestly say if it weren't for those games, I most likely would never have gotten interested in games and I wouldn't be an artist today.

I can only imagine what it would have been like to get the means to create a game of my own at that age. Wow, if I had started back then, I might actually have a game done by now :D.

evenwolf

I'd be curious if anybody has a copy of my first post.

All that ezboard stuff is long gone.   Worst?   I was real mean to a few people and took a break for a while.   Can't even remember what it was about.    Someone posted a thread I wasn't real fond of.   I made too big a deal out of it.   It was sort of uncharacteristic of me at the time.  Blah blah blah.
"I drink a thousand shipwrecks.'"

I don't remember your very first post, Evenwolf, but I remember when you first appeared here, and I think you made a very good first impression.

I believe you joined just shortly after AGA and Darkstalkey, and you managed to balance out their bastardness.

My First post no longer exists but it was for the release of the demo of my first game, which I'd completed, but spent a few weeks doing new backgrounds before the release a few weeks later.

The release post still exists from 2002 http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=2009.msg22862#msg22862 I think this forum is the only one on the site that hasn't been culled

My worst post, none, or all depending who you are

Edit: just had a flashback of some post I made when drunk that was actually deleted not even just locked.

I remember looking the next day to see what I'd actually written and it was gone, and I'm pretty sure it's rare that any post is actually deleted, it must have been offensive or illegible, probably glad it's not there for people to see

Who was the first non moderator that posted on your topic?

mine was Manic Matt. Here check it out.

Nah, just kidding but that was Manic Matt first post. He even dared to put some screenshots. It took me a year to get a good hosting site.

Domino

My first post & thread on the AGS Forums was asking for free Midi files? It was so lame, but i was very nervous after registering.  I am sure glad that thread is no longer available.  I even posted it in the wrong forum and TerranRich moved it. That is when he had that evil Star Trek character for an avatar, and i was afraid, so afraid.  :)

My worst post was something along the lines of me posting ting, ting, ting in a thread and CJ locked it about 2 replies later.

ManicMatt

Yeah but that was a classic thread Domino! I still find it funny!

Dual names: Uh... you're welcome??

Quote from: m3h!!11Hey, I'm new on the AGS forums :) and I have a tech question: Is there some way to create fighting scenes like in MI1 and in Indana Jones? I tried almost everything! PLEASE HELP...

I was, like, 14 at the time. The original thread can still be found here:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=24683.msg307200#msg307200

Been wasting bandwidth for about a year and a half. And still haven't completed a game. I sux. :P

Sylpher

My first post was on the pre-ezboard days! (That's right.) I have no idea what it was about and Gilbert is the only person I know, besides Pumaman, that is still around from those days. I showed up shortly before AC 1.14 released sometime in early '99.

Erenan

First post.

I dunno about my worst one. Maybe someone else has an idea? But actually... Nevermind...

You're still newbie of the year, Evenwolf.

As for my first post, I can't really be sure, but I think I was telling Phil Reed to hurry up with a sequel to Larry Vales 2.

voh

My first post:

Quote from: voh on Fri 18/06/2004 16:15:23
It's a good game, definately. I liked the humour, but there are some issues I wish to mention, simply because I can.

- The insides of buildings shouldn't have rastered colours. Why? Don't know exactly, but it doesn't look good. The rest of the graphics are definately above average, but those rasters were... A breach, to say the least.
- The second part, on the island, seems to have been rushed and was a bit too short. It was a shame that it was so easy to find the martini glass, hat and umbrella. Even though I liked the fact that Zale said "this is going to be difficult" and then proved to be actually easier than finding a sock on your foot, he didn't respond as... satisfying as I would've liked.

But then again, I'm a naggy old bastard, who happens to be from Europe, and not regarding my patriot feelings, the Zurope joke was a cheap shot :)

I can't say any of my posts are 'worst post' material, because I'm consistently sensible and polite.

Really. :=
Still here.

Nikolas

Worst post?

Can't seem to find it (mainly cause I didn't search that hard really), when I decided for some stupid reason (trying to be a joke) to take the nick of helm! (since I could have Helm) and pretend it was him for 3-4 hours or so... I still know that it wasn't malintended, but do see why Helm would be annoyed... Ah well... :-\

MashPotato

My first post was in a sprite jam, and was also my first try at pixel art :)

QuoteHello!  A newbie here, with a first spriting attempt ^_^

I realized when I was done that it is very similar to Grapefruitologist's!  Sorry 'bout that  :)

It feels so long ago ;D

Radiant

My first post was asking after Snail Quest, since I was browsing the AGS games repository and wanted to play that and the download link was broken.

My worst post was probably something overly nitpicky in a bug report or feature request for the AGS editor.

Buckethead

This is my first post:

QuoteHey,

My name is Buckethead, well atleast my nick is.
I live in the Netherlands and I always liked making stuff (like sites ans sort)
I most recently became 16 (august , 8 ) and thought it was time to visit the forums.
Well here I am.
If you have any personal questions for me don't be afraid to ask,
can't say for sure if you'll get an awnser though.

bye

My worsest post is when I cheated in the spritejam, gee I still have nightmares about that.  :'(
