The next game I make is definately going to have some contoversial crap in it, I mean, you can't drum up interest like this with a "normal game"

Anyway, I like the game, I'm still stuck in the frickin cell, but you gotta love the animations and other details you've put in so far...

All the arguing between Vel and Foz and Nihilist and whoever more, as well as Foz's overuse of "..." in all his posts almost made me lose interest in this game.
It tried it however, but of course I'm stuck in the first room. Nice game so far.

I'm with Squinky.  If I ever get the will to start all over and complete a game, it's going to be one screwed up game.  Then I'll just generate a lot of controversy and everyone will play it!

VEL: I downloaded the last AGS-ezine, and haven't found the review on flashbax. Where can I find it?

FOZ:

I finished your game. Overall, it was very good. Good puzzles (sick though...), a plot that keeps you interested and wanting to find out more, very good animations, and a nice atmosphere, that got a little bit ruined by the sicky parts.

Some problems though:

1. The hints to the puzzles are sometimes too clear, and give away the solution, instead of just showing the player the direction of the solution.
Example:

When you examine the water-pistol, the hero says 'looks almost like a real gun, except for the color'. When I saw the word COLOR, I immidiately knew I had to use the black paint on it. I think it was best if the hero said: 'It almost looks like a real gun' PERIOD.

There are more examples to this type of hints.

2. Is it just me, or you're using too many CAPITAL LETTERS in the text. It could be very annoying that every OBJECT in the middle of the hero talk, is in capital letters. Like: 'Tin of BLACK paint'. I think you should use the capital letters only when you need to highlight a word, like this: 'I didn't do anything, it's all HER fault'.

But enough whining already...
This game is very good, and one can easily tell you spent a lot of hours putting it together.

nice game,

it took me about an hour to finish ... i like the animation's but the idle one is really annoying (he keeps picking his nose every time he enters a room unless you wait for the animatin to finish).

overall good game , could have been longer i'd say 7/10

Great game Foz, I just played it from start to finish in one session, it had a great flow to it.

I just read this thread and geez, I have no idea what the fuss is about, if you think it's vulgar just don't play it, or don't post in the thread, I thought the vulgar stuff was classic, I haven't read vel's review yet.

The game had a great feel to it, the puzzles were clever and

Can anyone help me solve the laser door puzzle in the cell? I've got all the inventory, I think, but I still can't figure out how to shut it off.

Go into the bathroom and use the toiletpaper on the sink. Turn the sink on. Go out and get some of the green stuff from the machine. Take the pillow and put it on the camera. When the robot comes out, use the green stuff on it. Let me know if you get stuck from here on...

I have UPDATED the interface to the new one that will be used in the prequel.

And fixed all the bugs i know about and corrected some of the things that have been brought up.

I will get cracking more seriously on the prequel.

okay, you are the creator of flashbax and you are logged in..
nice effort and all, but can you plz tell me how i turn the damn lasers off? I keep trying to press each button as many times as it's suggested, counting from A to Z (ie. for "1-B"  i press the first button twice). Is it right?

It's my first post on AGS forum. My English is poor and I`am not creating any AGS but I must express my opinion.

I dowmload and finish most of AGSgames and I must say that Flashbax is one of the best I`ve played.
Foz, your game is great - the cutting off a guard's hand and the scene with masturbating wasn't too vulgar and IMHO was a little fuuny.

And I think that giving Buccaneer a score 92% and Flashbax 65% is a nonsense ( almot the same nonsense like saying that Rick Wakeman is better keyboard player than Keith Emerson :-)  ). Flashbax is better, longer etc.It`s obvious to me that foz put much more work and effort to his game. Foz - don't worry about this revievs you've done excellent work!

Can`t wait to see a prequel!!! And I think that you shouldn`t bother with the lighter version. It would be like writing a song that you think is good, then asking people if they like it and what they would change and then remaking all music.
