It looks like everybody is at each other's throats: foz and Vel are arguing over a MAGS game, Trap doesn't like to read about HTML tags, Minimi is apologising to everyone and let's not even mention "Symbolic representation of landscape features - o - plural of medium".

On the serious side, I agree.  It seems like people just kinda sit around waiting to pounce on the next thread that comes along.  
There are times when I'll write a new thread, get ready to hit the post button but then stop and erase everything I wrote because I figure that it'll just get chewed up.

I agree. I HATE hate...

I've noticed a massive fall of the AGS community. most of its loved members are quitting, etc. Its blamed on newbies, but I reckon just down to people getting to each other. Just spend some time away. Thats what I did. I actuall feel better, and I don't think I'll post as much now.

Err... I don't think there's been any downfall. Just a few instances of insanity.
Actually, I think the Mappomedia thing was the only real problem.

I remember the first time when I visit AGS... I really loved that Helm´s morphing signature, and the rest of the greek community. I miss that, and Goldmund, who can´t post so much as he desires now (I hope he´ll come back whn finishes his exams) a most active Chrille...

But there are new people... Barcik as a newbie in that time, n3tgraph, remixor, Xadhoom, me (I hope to finish a game soon...)

the community is changing, not dying, or going worse... It´s different, and you can´t compare two different things, IMO.

Oh, the Mappomedia thing was just a bit of fun -- no need for alarm there.

And Dark Stalkey locked it right at the perfect moment: when it really started to go nowhere.

As for calm, I think the forum is pretty calm at the moment.

As for people leaving, I thought people were returning: I notice Helm's posting more often. same with Magintz, Yuster is also posting a little more, etc

Maybe it's a half 'n half thing.

I disagree, hate is great.  Conflict is the only natural path of humanity, it is inevitable, and when we try to avoid it, we are only avoiding ourselves.  We should embrace our rage, our frustrations at one another.  We should let loose our bottled anger and fill the streets with blood and violence!

The community won't get calmer than this, and no community in the entire world wide web is calmer than this, except possibly the forum of the support group for people with rigor mortis, or perhaps the discussion board for Warrior of Light.

Anyhow, I don't want it any calmer. Some decent flaming always lighten things up.
Friends can handle a certain amount of aggression.
