Come on, San Francisco!  Come on, San Francisco!  No?  Ok, come on, San Diego!  Come on, San Diego!  No?  Damnit.

Well, there's no way I can be sure either way.  It totally depends on the specific dates for me, particularly if it's 10 days.  It would certainly be feasable (particularly if lodging is free), as long as everything is decided enough in advance that I could save up for the airfare.  Just keep us all posted, I suppose.

What exactly goes on at Mittens?  Are there planned events or is just a social gathering?  Is there anywhere I could read about past Mittens events?

It's mostly an opportunity for agsers to meet up, there are some organised activities, such as going to a themepark, mostly the fun is in meeting people you've known online in person.

there are 2 wonderful campgrounds in Western-Central New York that are perfect, one is Allegheny State Park & the other is Letchworth State Park. But it doesn't matter, because most of Upstate New York is beautiful and should be seen. I won't go because of my NOOB status, but thought i would let you know.

I've been doing a lot of work here in Maryland, checking out campgrounds, even a large one that is owned by the county schools, and its 10 minutes from Baltimore Washington International (BWI)airport.  I'm hoping to make enough money in the coming months to be able to afford at least one bus and driver, if not two plus the campgrounds for us, or just bug the parents.  The one place can hold like 125 people, and I do know theres a lot of Americans hoping to come, and of course we all want the international agsers to come.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I can say without a doubt, I will be there. Even if I have to walk. Worse case scenerio, I ask my parents to loan me the money for the trip, and then pay them off later. Of course, for me it's a bit more feasible, where airtravel to NY is only 2 to 3 hundred dollar round trip.

Eric, we need to set a date for mittens. Preferably not near major holidays (at least, not when we arrive), otherwise rates begin to rise. June/July?

Andail

I'll be there. As long as a trusted and well-respected member as Eric will orginise it, I'll be there.

The previous mittens have, as you all know, all been handled by well-respected, mature, trustworthy and nearly iconic members of the AGS elite.

Ishmael

I would be there, if I somehow could arrange myself to the US... gotta think. If any other finn from around where I live is going, I'll try to tag along ;D
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

I'm there, dude.  I can definitely help out with picking people up from airports or whatever.

n3tgraph

ah, pick ups from the airport would be great

As for the meet in London, would be cool too, then we'd have a nice time in the plane too ;)

And then I could finally shake Farlanders hand :P

There's gotta be a cheaper way no?

I don't know how my travel agent pulled it off.

Maybe we should all stay in the pensilvania hotel in NY city.
100 euro per night, but it was so AWESOME. (I think is met Dennis Hopper in the elevator!)

Pet Terry

I'm going, that's pretty sure.

Hey TK, if you're going, we could probably have a same flight! I wouldn't want to travel alone :P

It's like £250 on average one-way, so I expect a two-way thing would cost about £450-500...

EDIT:

http://www.britishairways.com/travel/fx/public/en_gb?eId=111011imestamp=1024122742 - it's £50 cheaper in June than July, the way I see it...

EDIT 2: www.lufthansa.co.uk - leaving 1 June, returning 14th June, it's £400.90 return...

evil: why is it four years until you can go?

Anyway, it seems my chances are very slim atm, unless there's someone else from israel going, and even then, it's very expensive...

I don't think you can get a precvise number now, but an approximate number maybe. Anyway i really would like to go, but my mom doesn't trust you :D

Scummbuddy: You live in maryland?

Oh well, maybe i'll just have to wait until it takes place in Israel or something.. heh, there are many israelis here after all.

Yeah, that hotel is pretty cool.  I went to an event there just last week.

A night or two in NYC could be on the agenda, if people think it's a good idea.  I can certainly put people up, although it would be a tight squeeze. (500 sq. foot studio, which includes the bathroom).

End of summer term is something like the 20th June for university-goers, custard. Dunno what it is if you're in college...
