Yes, yes. The little magical webhosting angels bestowed me with free hosting (with much bandwidth also). I am so lucky!

Go there now and listen to my songs! And download free soundfonts!

Thank you, little magical webhosting angels!

I checked out your soundfonts earlier today. I must say, they are pretty damn awesome, especially the drums. Better than most of my existing collection. Great job!

Gregjazz

Thank you! You make me feel bad about releasing my funk kit or session kit and having the little "email" thing. Tomorrow I'll release them for download instead of email request.

What do you use to open an SF2 file? Soundforge?

Gregjazz

Well, technically Soundforge can open SF2 files (in the raw data format), but use Vienna Soundfont Studio.

Hmm, looks like my sound care doesn't support sound fonts.

Have you tried comverting them to a different format? My sound card doesn't support sound fonts either, but I can extract the wave files from them.. Try something like Vienna Soundfont Studio..

Gregjazz

The soundfont format is pretty popular. You could always use Awave Studio -- it can convert to virtually any format.

I make my soundfonts in Vienna Soundfont Studio, but if I convert them to a different format (like Gigasample) to upload to my site, I'm not sure how accurate the conversion is. That's why I prefer to keep them in the original format.

Anyways, I'm going to write tutorials and reviews to put on the site.

Vienna won't run because it says my soundcard isn't compatible.

Well, I use a program called SF2COMP. It's a command-line compiler/extraction utility.

EDIT: Here it is-- Just download SF2Comp and SFEDT32.DLL

While you're at it, try this frontend for the program. It makes it a little easier to use:

Yeah, sometimes the site brings up a 404. Every couple of days it does that. The strange thing is not everyone I've talked to ran into that 404 thing. I talked to the guy who runs the hosting and he said it's not a problem on his part and he even checked the server for me.

No, OSC, I didn't put any of the tunes for your game on it :), but there are many of my other songs on the site, as well as great soundfonts.
