Sure it is... The mix of the original native tongue and having developed alone from almost 400 years make the spanish in shouth America very difficult to understand...

Have in mind that "madre" (Mother) in Spain, means "Whore" in South America... a little difference.

Whereas in Spain we're going to the beach to gather shellfishes (Ir a cojer conchas), in South AmÃ©rica you're "going to the beach to fuck cunts"... a little difference...

And the accents is terrible.

It's the same with French. In France- at least according to my high school French teacher- you might ask for "le donut." In Quebec, you ask for "le beign." Either way, you get a tasty circular confection with a hole in the middle.

And in English you get similar differences. I go to a British message board occasionally, and I have trouble understanding what's being said. Unfortunatly, after a visit to urbandictionary.com I realized all the words I couldn't understand weren't all that nice.

Heeey, 'madre' also means mother here, nothing to do with whores. Don't generalize so much. I think in Argentina it doesn't mean whore, either. I haven't heard about any place where 'madre' means whore, though I may be wrong.

I agree 'concha' means something else than the meaning you give it and can be considered offensive, but we probably speak using some words normally that you might consider offensive as well.

And our accent is not terrible, your is.

I'm joking, you just can't say the way they speak your language in other places is terrible, they're both as good but for different people. Languages help people to understand each other, and that generally means geographically close people. If they can understand each other, that's it, the language has fulfilled its goals.

They wouldn't, since writing them like that was the phoentic point [and they are laregely written like that, though not nearly as much as they are spoken]. I chose those phrases because they also show that the words have changed in more than simple pronounciation. And the structure has changed in each. It's not just an accent.

The point was being made about less formal forms fo the language. After all, Farlander's point about the creative metaphor of Concha [which I quite like] isn't a formal speech thing.

Yes Kairus, I just felt into the vicious to think that the pronunciation of the original place where a lenguaje is created is te correct... That's not true, no pronunciation is better, they're just different and they're all good in their respective places.

I realize that I am an wonderfully lovable person, and touch many lives on a daily basis. However, even god draws the line at weird daily e-mails. Well, he never actually phsyically did, but if e-mails existed back when J-man walked the earth, he probably would have.
