well, i guess they can be friends, but i guess it's more about whether you want to date them or not o.0

i have 2 female friends i care about, but i only want to date one

the one i don't want to date would let me do whatever i want with her... except i don't, because im not a pervert and wouldn't think of using her.Ã,Â we don't fight alot, and she's pretty cool

but the other i wanted to date... good god! i don't bug her about it or anything, but every time we have an argument she ALWAYS accuses me of jealousy $:-\$ . The clincher is she's 18 and has the figure of a 12 year old boy, and all the boyfriends she's ever had make me look like Jesus lol

i dunno if it's wanting to date that always seems to cause friction in friendships, or maybe it's because my other friend is crazy LOL

Anyhoo, yes, of course a male and a female can just be friends. All of my friends are male anyway, since I can relate to them about skateboarding and gaming and stuff, and they know not to make moves on me and I them.

I'm probably as close to my best friend as I am to my boyfriend. I've known Darren (best friend) since I was 7, and we would always go to each other's houses at night whenever we were scared of lightning, the boogymen or whatever. Even now, whenever I go camping with him, I can sleep right beside him with only friendly-thoughts in my mind.

I mean, we've tried going out in the past (mainly because the popular people forced us too), but we both agreed that we're better off as friends. He's not romantically interested in me, and I'm not romantically interested in him.

Of course, the closeness between Darren and I have caused problems with my significant other, but I think Nathan knows by now that I wouldn't cheat on him.

Anywhoo, I still stick to having male friends. I don't get along with girls at all, but I don't get along with most guys either. I'm too morbid and tend to crack necrophilia and dead baby jokes almost nobody gets (the "I don't want to be a necro because I would have to freeze my BF's body" joke)

Sadly, I didn't manage to maintain a platonic relationship with a certain person who's my BF right now. Before that we were very good friends.

To the question, yes, they can. Most of my friends are male, anyway. For one, the share my kind of humor. I also don't have any 'special feelings' towards any male, since I'm lesbian. It all depends on the person though.
