This is an idea for a television show.Ã,  Ã, I need help with the title.

If you came across the the name "Chasing the Dragon" in your tv guide, what would be your impression?Ã,  What would you expect? Would it pique your interest?
"I drink a thousand shipwrecks.'"

Darth Mandarb

My first impression would be something to do with drugs.Ã,  (Isn't that what they used to call it when you mixed heroin and absynth together?)

It would catch my interest though.Ã,  Whatever it makes me think about, it's a 'snazzy' sounding title.

Chasing the dragon is using opium. Opium is from the east originally, hence dragon. My first impression was also drugs, but it has a rather mystical qaulity to it.

Raider

Mine would have to be a low budget, bad acting movie that is played only at mid day when everyone is at work. The more hyped up it is, the crappier it might be (in my eyes). If it is a random name but slightly on subject then maybe it will catch my attention. But thats just me :D

I thought opium first, but a part of me hoped that the show was about guys chasing dragons in the Wacky Races mileu.

Like Raider, the name is enough to catch my interest, but I'd have to know more about the content before I'd watch it.

Oz

Sounds like a cheap action movie starring Steven Seagal and Tracy Lords.
Diversity is divine!

Being quite an innocent, my first thought would be a documentary looking into the different myths and legends of the dragon  :-\

n3tgraph

catching the dragon sounds like a Bruce Lee movie, the sequal to enter the dragon or something  8)
* N3TGraph airguitars!

Daniël Brooks

A show with happy colored teddybears singing songs hosted by Dick van Dyke dressed up as a dragon.

That, or a talk show about teenage drug addicts...

Chasing the dragon is term for using any drug by vapourising (heroin, opium, hashish).

Exactly the same as him ---^

If I saw it in a tv mag without knowing what the name meant, I probably wouldn't bother to read the decription of it underneath.

BlackMan890

for me it sounds like a a mafia movie

Thanks guys.  This show is actually a showcase of student shorts.  I'm not particularly fond of the title because it is a drug reference, but my friends are going apeshit over it.

I personally wouldn't want to broadcast anything promoting drug use in any form, but this gimmick seems to have really caught their fancy.

Exactly what I was thinking. Either that or some Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon clone.

Andail

Truthfully, I'm not too fond of that name, partly because of the reasons given in this thread. It simply sounds a bit immature, especially considering the show has nothing to do with dragons, drugs or kung fu.

I'm rather bad at puns and word plays in English, so I'm not gonna pretend I have a better suggestion :)

I'd love to see the show, though

Rincewind

Heh, to be totally honest with you, the first thing I thought of was a cheap fantasy novel, actually. (Either that, or a new Dio-album... :) )

Hawkins

It's quite hard to judge a title when you don't know what it's the title to.

At least, when I read it, I think of some kind o animted toon movie, like disney or something.

Hawkins- good point.

But say you were channel surfing with digital cable.  If the show is on a commercial- would you wait around for the show to come back, or hit the "info" button for the show?

That's what I was researching.
"I drink a thousand shipwrecks.'"

HillBilly

A hong kong ninja movie!!

Or possibly a really stupid sequel to "Red Dragon".
