On a similar topic, Australia just recently released its first diet beer called "Pure Blonde".

What does everyone think about this? Brilliant advancement in health sciences? Or a desecration?

That must be a Spanish problem, you barbarians.

Every single pub I know has dark and lighter beers, even though more people drink the draughts.

Actually, yeah, we're a wine country, and, while beer is being consumed more and more each day, even more than wine, we just don't have that culture. When I go to a belgium pub, they have thousand of beers, helles, drunkles, mild, schwarz... and they have the glas wit the mark/logo of the beer to drik the beer in the correct glass. I could only expect that in a spanish restaurant if talking of wines. Even average people know more or less which year is good or not.

We just drink San Miguel/àguila Amstel/Mahou in coca-cola glasses.

We even drik a lot of 0,0 % alcohol, for God's shake!!!11!

Over DG's... I've read a lot of scientist report which say that beer does not make you more fat, at least not more than any other food with high carbohidrate, it is just the things we eat with the beer that make us get fat (in adittion, beer makes you go to the toilet a lot, which is good) That in Spain is true, because we allways accompain the beer with almonds, jam, crisps... about the typical german guy in the october fest, it can be true too, because they appear to eat a lot of fatty things.

Does that happen in any other places?
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

*Sigh*...
I see, there's no beer culture outside of Bavaria (alright, maybe in Ireland, but only maybe) or you wouldn't talk like that!

Hah! I will have to strongly disagree with you! Sure Bavaria can call itself beer "Wunderland" but if there is a beer country it has to be Czech Republic with highest per capita consumption of beer in the world. Craddle of all pilsner beers (Pilsner Urquell) and original Budweiser (not that American ****). On the other hand, Bavaria has wider variety of sorts. I especially like your Dunkel beers and Hefeweisens... And Octoberfest is something not to mis too ;)

As for Fosters: arghhhh.... Tastes like something that was left in pipes afer they were washed out ;D.

I enjoy beer. It's refreshing, and gives a plesant buzz.
Can't stand wine though.
By the time you read this you've already read it.

If you think Budweiser is bad, try Bud Light. It's absolutely terrible (but still a favorite around here, for some reason). It still tastes like piss, ball sweat, and water but for some reason there's way too much water. Also, my state only allows low-point beer (3.2% alcohol by volume) except for in liquor stores so all of the beer tastes terrible anyway.

I've only drank a few times, and I had to make myself do it. Beer tastes terrible.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

I'm sure redruM will agree with me that the best Portuguese beer is Especial. That's if redruM is even of age (16 in Portugal). What say you, redruM? :)
Status: Trying to come up with some ideas...

Pet Terry

I don't really like beer, even though I drank it at Brittens.

That lager was pretty good though.

Try 6X, brewed in my home town and leaves a nasty aftertase. Meaning drink lots of the stuff and you'll be too drunk to notice it ;)

I homebrew too!Ã,  Though I haven't done a batch in almost a year because I was traveling/unemployed.Ã,  The first batch I made tasted like stale vomit, but I later made a Robust Porter that tasted great.Ã,  I definitely like darker beers...Guiness is my favorite...in terms of other brews I really like Budvar Budweiser (the Czech brew, jaz, you're right, it's great!). Isegrim, I like Schneider too, but it was never my favorite wheat beer.Ã,  I always liked Franzikaner a lot.Ã,  When I lived outside of Hannover in high school, we used to go to the happy hour special at the Paulaner, they'd give you liter of great beer for something like three marks.Ã,  It was amazing.Ã,

That's really interesting about Fosters.Ã,  Because the commericals they show over here say Fosters is "Australian for Beer".Ã,  It's everywhere over here (America).Ã,  I've been working in Iowa for the past five weeks and the only beer I could find were the American industrial brews, Heineken and Fosters.Ã,  What's that about?Ã,  I'm happy to be back in DC.

I remember I was in a german bar once and I was drinking a Fosters, and this Germanguy, who my friends tell me was hitting on me, said, "Fosters...hmmm...I sink it is an ugly bier."Ã,  Ã, I thought about it and said, "Yes, I also sink it is an ugly beer."

Very ugly.

Hmm... When I tried beer as a kid, I cvouldn't drink the whole glass I had. Well, things changed. I got used to the taste... I even think it tastes good - if it is a good beer of course.
In Poland where I live there is a long tradition of drinking alcohol. Beer is very popular. Me myself, I like Tyskie and Warka Strong the most (but I didn't really drink many brands - only the most popular ones).
Zywiec is a very popular beer in Poland butI don't like it - it's too bitter for me. I'm sorry if any Pole reads this and gets embarassed Ã, :P

Anarcho

I was in Wroclaw once and tried Zywiec, it wasn't bad!

Blade

Many people like Zywiec. It's just my personal taste. My brother says Zywiec's the best :P

I wrote a song in appreciation of beer!

Beer is great!
Beer is great!
Beer is great!
You all suck!
Beer is great!
Hurray!

Seriously, I've always liked beer. Ever since the first sip. You have to learn to drink beer. The less you drink at once the worse it tastes!

Layabout

I am australian, and I drink Fosters. Only because it's the widest available australian beer in london.

And aga is a smelly welshman.

Mephistophilis

Not a beer man myself, or Wine, or Champagne, or Cider, hell I don't think I like any drink, I know where I stand with my Irn Bru (Scottish by the way), so you all suck.

As for beers from the UK, definatley try some Old Spekled Hed, although it's more of an ale, but what ever you do don;t drink Carling, tis foul.

Anywho, I like beer to a certain extent I cant sit and drink it pint after pint, but maybe a pint or two is OK.
When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.
