well, it did do that before. at least for me.
... it's quite easy being the best.

Well it loads pages that are standards compliant, That is something that IE doesn't do, but since most people are using IE, web developers are getting away with sloppy code that doesn't work well with other standards comlying browsers. So yeah it does load them properly if they are coded properly.
Oh and it seems that rodekill.com doesn't work well. I'm sure there is an easy way to fix it, but I wouldn't know.

Er? I've used Firefox for quite awhile now, and I've never had any problems with either, apart from those idiotic sites that specifically only allow you to use Internet Explorer...

I have a 1 Ghz machine, somehow I doubt that would cause a slow startup.. Unless Firefox's standard for efficiency is based aroun 2308934Mhz machines.

Firefox is quite a memory hog. My current session (2 windows open) is using 95MB of RAM. That could be your problem, perhaps.

LGM

No, I think I found it. I know nothing about Proxies, but my settings were set so that I was directly connected to the internet, but I use DSL via gateway, so I told it to set everything up automatically and now everything is fast

1.0.1 is out! It fixes security and stability issues. You can get it at the link in the first post.

I downloaded version 1.0.1 today on my home computer and my work computer.  Everything seems good.

It seems to run a bit faster, but that might only be me.

I'm glad to see Firefox doing so good.  25 million downloads since version 1.0

I have been using FF for awhile now, but i still cannot convince people to switch from IE.  All i do is get ripped a new one for suggesting it.  Well, when they get a juicy virus, i'll be the first person in line laughing my ass off.

My university just changed the default browser on it's network to Firefox, which is nice. I use Opera, since it used something like a third of the memory FF does, despite having more functionality without plugins [I hope FF fixes it's memory hogging], but IE was so insanely stupid that I'm happy.

And anyway, now all the web resources are being made FF compliant, and thus standards compliant, and hence Opera compliant as well.

Yeah Opera is also good, except I can't use it with that ad there. FF is free and does everything I want (with the extensions included). One of the best extensions in FF is AdBlock. I hardly ever see an ad on the net anymore, and that's good for me. And if there is a site which I don't mind with the ads, I just leave them turned on.

Hah yeah,my school (New England Institute of Technology) switched over to FireFox on all their PC computers and we've all noticed the difference. The Mac G5's still use IE and Safari though.
