Ah ok, if you're under 13 then that's a valid reason not to register. However, technically speaking you shouldn't be posting to the board at all if that's the case.

Unfortunately it's a legal thing, because the server is hosted in the US it has to abide by US rules on children's privacy and so legally speaking I'm not allowed to let you join.

However, I hope you appreciate the reasons why guest posting is limited -- it wasn't oriignally like this, but people being stupid with guest accounts forced us to do this.

Ah, I forgot about our stupid 13-or-over rule. A general question for the entire Internet, not just you, CJ: Why not just have under-13-year-olds not be required to give out their email address? They should find some way of letting minors register. Maybe have a special Minor Account with limited abilities? Just some ideas for anybody who has ever created a forum.

Even my email address is fake (which, if you look at my "addresses", you probably knew that anyway). My dad is very strict about Internet stuff.

If this is your main problem, afraid of getting your address out there, there is an option in registered member's profiles to hide your e-mail address fron the public, so no one can get it. So you'll have all the joys of posting without the horrors of potential poeple sending spam or worse to  your e-mail address! Mmmmmmk?

Ishmael

Damn you woog, you just stated what I was about to! :P The point that you can hide your email from public. I think we can trust Chris that he don't give our address' anywhere, right? RIGHT?

At one point our email address' were hidden from the public even if we had not set it to be... but now it's the way "it should"...

...hmm... why has all this spam stated appearing to my non-hotmail inbox suddenly..?? ( :P )
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

I now get "Lesbians Want You!" spam emails. I blame CJ. Besides, why would lesbians want me? They're lesbians for cryin' out loud.

And yeah, you can hide your email from the public. Is it just a "rule" that under-13's can't get in, or is it actually a restriction?

Well... this is very interesting. We'll have to see how this turns out.

I hope Yoda wins.

Sorry, I kind of spaced out there.

Well the legalities aren't the only reason. We've also found that people under 13 tend to act rather immaturely, and I for one don't have the patience to put up with all the stupid posts that kids can make.
Anyway, we've discussed this several times in the past, so I won't talk any further.

Nobody better feel sorry. We all mentioned how it could be worked around, and we even said we would like for him to stay.

I agree that guests have all the rights they need. So this guy wants to feel sorry for himself, then fine. Stay virus free, since signing up here immediatley gives everyone a new virus.  ::)  Seriously, if he really cared to make games, then he wouldn't give up.

I agree with Kairus.Ã,  I think this is just a person looking to get a little attention without somebody knowing who him/her is.

I think this topic would be best locked.

If Einoo wanted to keep posting, he/she would register.

Do not give them any more attention.

In today's world, who obay their parents on internet stuffa anymore? Just wondering... Do you have to tell your dad about EVERTHING you do online? Every email you get you have to read to him out loud? That sounds sick to me...

You can always get a hotmail address and register with it... I don't think MSN has the resources to send a goon to every new registered user's home to check if they really are who the say they are...

For those of you that have your emails public I would have thought you knew about this. There are a lot of web spiders designed to search forums like this for email addresses. I'm surprised you can even use your email at all without having 50-100 spam emails a day in it. And I hope that the email used here is not your primary email address.
But as I said before I would have thought you guys knew that and I am sure it was just a bit of sarcasm on your parts.
