I will create a parody on stargate, here is Jack O'Neall

what do you think...

InCreator

He's missing a nose...
and his left foot doesn't support him standing.

But apart from that, this is a very well drawn character.
Good job!

Sektor 13

he has a mose :D a little "lighten" spot betven eyes and mouth :D

Kweepa

Nice character!
Three things bother me (after I used google image search)
- his arms seem too short. I'd lengthen them two or three pixels
- his mouth seems too low on his jaw. I'd move it up a pixel
- his name's O'Neill :)
- it looks like he's out in his socks. Maybe some detail to the boots?
Ok, that was four things.

I think you're using far too many colors to draw him. For backgrounds, it's ok to use gradual changes in the value of colors to shade, but with characters (especially ones you plan on animating) it's much more efficient to reduce the number of colors to a point where you can make him look crisp and sharp.

You should avoid using airbrush, dodge, burn, soften, and smudge when working with pixel art. I guarantee you that a sprite with hand picked colors will look much more distinguished.

P.S. Did you paint over Boston Low from The Dig?

Well i played DIG over half year ago, but i remembered Boston Low , so i draw him from my memory, especialy legs, i know boots and those "pants" dark diagonals are very familiar to those Commander Low had.

Sektor 13

ok here is the whole bunch..

I took some of your advices....

I did not reduce colors , yet, but i draw teal'c head only with 4 different, in will try to reduce pants and jackets later...

Scummbuddy

I would think there would be some gold symbol over Tilk's(however you spell it) forhead, but superb job so far. Keep up the fantastic work.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

With the new characters (Teal'c and daniel in particular) is their shoulder's position. they seem too flat and rigid, resting too high on their chest...try and just lower the shoulders. anyways, these look excellent, can't wait to see your final product

Sam.

Sam looks a bit blokeish. IN the series shes quite petit. bigger breasts. always bigger breasts
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

huh i forgot the golden sign in the forehead, i knew something was missing :D

About breasts, well, you can't actually see them trough thick jacket... maybe a little..

I will look in to the shoulders.. :D

EDIT:

ok i made Jack in low colors and front position..

Khris

Very good! I especially like the shading. But, as you already know, it's very hard to animate with that many colors.
Try saving the sprite as GIF or PNG, this board and AGS handle those well.
I suspect JPG is to blame for the still too many colors of your front view.

I did a quick paintover:

2x4x

front view:
-lowered ears
-changed collar & shoulders
-made him look a bit more relaxed (arms)
-slightly changed (his) left hand

angled view:
-slightly altered jacket's waistline
-again changed collar & shoulders
-relaxed arm(s) here, too
-turned head to match feet

PS: You don't have to resize the pic to show it bigger, simply use [*img width=112 height=160] (without the * of course)

hey thanks, your adjustements do look better, as for the color part, main bod (jacket and trausers) actualy do not use a lot of colors, i use about 5 differend for trausers only, maybe JPG format change it :S i have all originals keept save in paint shop pro format... As for head, i don't think it is necesary to reduce colors there, because head will not move much when walking , except when he ll talk, but that is not very hard to do anyways...

I count colors in my original picture(PSP9-format), it uses only 69 colors (background and face included) and i took even closer look i found some very similiar colors,, which canot be seen as different until you use ZOOM.

And i opened my JPG picture, i published here, it has 1334 colors, must but just side effect for saving in JPG.....

EDIT (later :D ):

Ok I changed the pics, i used only 4 different colors for legs (+ 4 for the darker leg)

I saved in GIF format, as i see there are no changes in colors,... ;)

* it s easier to resize in the PSP, as here typing the command, but thanks anyways and picture is not very long..

All pictures use less than 70 colors.........

big brother

Ok, I guess actions speak louder than words.

Your original, low-contrast sprite features a whopping 63 colors, even after your reduction. I took the liberty (and a half-hour, so bear with any minor mistakes) of redrawing the same character. My version sports only 12 colors, which I use very efficiently to render into a high-contrast sprite.

2x zoom

See if you can spot the differences.

Necro

I like the dark contrast of your sprite, however it no longer looks like Teal'c and theres something wierd about his far leg.

But the work looks great so far.. I myself was going to do an SG1 game... I guess not anymore.

Sektor 13

Hey it looks great, but reminds me of tuvok, from star trek voyager :D

here are side profiles...

Necro, why ? You can do it, more SG-1 games, better...

Sektor 13

here is  you teal'c more teal'c ish, big brother

Woow! I love that last one [the left one]. But it seems to be a bit unballanced to me...
Are you going to do them that way?

Sektor 13

big brother drew that one, i just make a little modification...
No i will not do tham that way  >:( But i will make a little modifications, as a notice that i must use colors that differs more from each other, i already immproved teal's heands...

Wogoat

I think you should bring in Samantha's waist a bit,  and on the side view I think you could make her just a tad bustier.

Bringing in the waist would give her a bit more of a feminine curve, right now she's treatening to look more like a young boy.

Very good work overall though.
