Don't worry. Soon they'll develop a Das Kapital Expansion Pack for their out-of-reach audience, including all Marxists, beatniks, and bong-toting hippies.

On a frightening note, I bought Sims 2 and noticed my guy playing on his computer. Aimee, my younger sister and famed AGS game reviewer, walked into my room, looked at the game and said, "That's fucking sad! You're playing a computer game about a guy who plays a computer game!"

In the end, it will be impossible to distinguish the playing man from the man he plays.

Yes, that was said in the "gosh-I-hope-somebody-quotes-this" kind of voice.

Happy?  ;D

Anyway, sims 2 is awesome. There's a lot of stuff to do. Every time I think i'm about to get bored of it I discover a new aspect of the game.

I dunno.  If people aren't having sex with their dogs and baiting policemen and burning out on metamphetamenes at age 30, it's not realistic enough for me.

People also have to spend entire days alphabetizing they're CD collections for no apparent reason.  And then masturbating to Joni Mitchel 8 tracks. And then eating cheetoes and veging out in front of the television until they pass out on the couch.  And then they have to roll off the couch onto the floor and crawl half-way to the bathroom before falling asleep again, and then around 4 in the morning getting to the bathroom to throw up and masturbate and brush their teeth, and then weeping in a tiny ball on the toilet until morning when they bus off to their meaningless desk job.  But with robots.

Bspeers, I heard there's an expension pack just like that, ready to hit the shelves.

It will be called "Live like a bulimic aspberger-patient who thinks he is a rock-star"

I had to do it... :P

And an update: still not sick of Sims 2 yet. My "Big Brother"/"Real World" experience is fun so far. I keep forgetting to take snapshots to make an oh-so-funny scrapbook online for all to see. :)

By the way, EA is the publisher.  Maxis is the Developer of the Sims and Sims 2, and i find nothing wrong with the game.  It only expands greatly on the wonderful game that is the Sims.

Now, let's leave this thread to die peacefully.

Thank You

Pelican

Just a note to Nellie and anyone who found that the Sims 2 messed with their internet settings. There's a patch on the Maxis website now which seems to sort it. Was really starting to annoy me!

I get a urge to play sims/sims2 sometimes. After about 2 days of playing, i get really bored with it, and uninstall.
By the time you read this you've already read it.

Walshy

Good Day, Walshy reporting. I first played the SIMS 2 a few months ago and I was blown away...for the first day. I tried to build a themed house (medieval) just like in the SIMS 1 but in the process, the parents of the house worked so much that they left their 2 year old son alone on his birthday and neglected their aspirations. It truly is a great game (Strangetown is really cool) but I don't have a good enough reason to play it again. Maybe the UNIVERSITY expansion of the SIMS 2 could be a good reason to play it again seeing as I'm in University this year

Oh wow! I never even noticed that. I don't visit Maxis' web site at all. Not since I tried to make up lyrics to a Simlish song ("360") and lost my mind in doing so. :P But this looks good. i will definitely buy it. Perhaps it'll make TS2 worth playing again. :P

And I know what you mean, sedriss, about playing it for awhile, then uninstallng it, etc. all over again. I did that with The Sims 1 all the time, it's like a never-ending cycle. :P
